So I might have an option to relocate for work. Not sure I want to move at all. BUT our company has an operation in Jacksonville Fla, so as far as
places to ride in the Jax area, what are the options? I know Anastasia State Park, Fernandina Beach are close. Anything else?

Come on down! I think little talbot state park and Huguenot Park would also be useful spots to buggy that are closer to Jax than St. Augustine. That
said, all the cool kids buggy @ Anastasia.
/me puts on his cool kid shades
Ohh, and Jekyll is not so far away and if you are up for it Cumberland Island.

I buggied at Cumberland Island a couple times. It was a long time ago (1994?), so maybe things have changed but here's what I did. I got a camping
reservation at the Sea Camp campsite and took the ferry over. The ferry operators had a rule about no bicycles on the ferry, but they had no rules
about mysterious large bags. I took a small buggy--probably a Peter Lynn Comp--with barrows. It was completely disassembled.
Between kites, buggy and camping gear I had a lot of stuff, but I once I was on the island I assembled the buggy, loaded my gear into it and towed it
across the island to Sea Camp. This is not so unusual. There were campers with big rolling coolers on the boat with us.
From sea camp the boardwalk to the beach is not too long. I don't think it's wide enough for a buggy, so be prepared to shoulder your gear.
The beach is crazy wide at low tide. It's very much like Jekyll Island just to the North. The difference is its longer and I recall no rules except,
"don't approach the horses." I never did get to to do the epic tip to tail run, but it was fun. Buggying makes every beach trip better.
As to Cumberland Island, it's just great. I love the place. I really need to go back. Nick is harassing me to go back and relive the buggy
adventures of my youth. I might yet cave.
By the way, camping reservation at CI required a lot of lead time back in the day. Keep this in mind in your planning.
If you want to day trip it, that could work too. Take the first boat out, get off at Sea Camp. Take the last boat home and don't miss it. Of course
there's always charter service. That might make life easier.
Somebody go and send a trip report.

Cumberland would be cool, but not likely any time soon. When I think about it, we actually camped in Saint Mary's and took a day trip. I remember
having to make reservations to get on the island several months in advance. It is a beautiful spod, non doubt.
Thanks Philip.
