I wonder if it is any good to static fly
or if is it rideable in a NE?
How is the ground nowdays?
Thanks
Gabe

Hi Gabe and welcome to PKF

Garry Point is pretty much the main place to do any Buggying or Boarding in the lower mainland.
Static is always good to fly at Garry no matter what the wind direction but a NE might be a bit gusty as it has to come over the housing complex and trees.
The best direction we always look for is from the south so we can ride the full length of the park.
I haven’t been out for quite a while but from what I have heard, the lake is forming and that really cuts into our flying real estate.
If the weather holds, I’ll probably be out EARLY this Sunday.

Cheers

The troubles with Garry Point are the skanky water lake that forms in the middle of the park + the ground can dirty up your kites.

It looks like no wind during this cold dry spell anyway? I enjoy Sunset beach in the winter on most west winds. Low tide is best.

It looks like Green Lake may be freezing but the long term is going to be warmer and wet there for the rest of the month. :(
Here is hoping we get a better season on green this year. TDMC has just purchased a snowkite so look forward to meeting him this year!

Thanks Guys,
I did go there today, super light wind NNE, /3-5 knots/ the lake is still not there yet.
Sunny and cold. Lots of geese...
cheers
Gabe

If I recall correctly from what I have heard from the Kens... once the geese show up in flocks there also happens to be an excess of "goose droppings."

Also... what snowkite did you pickup K3?

We sometimes nickname Garry Point Park as GP.
Well.....from about now until spring, the geese tend to land in our nice little park and GP now becomes "Goose Poop" park.
Aaron...I picked up an HQ Apex II 7.5m off of flygy0101...my first depower in great condition and at a great price.
Bladerunner....I am hoping to get up to green lake around Christmas time as I have 2 weeks off of work but really hoping Williams lake freezes up enough as I usually head up there for the Holidays.
Ultimately...I would love to head up to Kelowna/Peachland area and maybe fly one of the lakes up there.

Cheers
