Local Kite Club Members Wanted

Chrisz - 18-11-2014 at 08:49 AM

The local university here in Duluth Minnesota has put together a awsome video staring me and some of my fellow kiters.

UMD runs a kite club through the out door recreation program for very little cost taught by certified instructors that do a great job!

Enjoy the clip

Looking good there! That's a pretty sharp looking kite too. I hope you have a great season.

I am hoping I might have a chance to get out this coming weekend. A few folks in town got in a session last Sunday. I didn't think there would be a lake with thick enough ice within an hour drive of the cities but there was. To get out around here before Thanksgiving would be great.

It looks as though we are going to have another 6 month long season!

The ice is about 2 to 3 inches thick in the small lakes, the bigger lakes are still open. All we need is the wind to stop blowing for a day or so and the rest of the lakes will freeze up.

Are you a former club member?

chris - 19-11-2014 at 11:26 AM

Me? No. But I know Adam and Randy. I work at HQ.

I probably should of guessed that by the HQ kite link at the bottom of your post:eureka:

Nice vid Chris! I would have loved to have a kite program when I was in school. Keep the cold air coming this way, almost ready to hit the lakes:D
