Guess. it would have helped if I typed something instead of daydreaming about the beach...

So far, from what I hear... here's the startup list of what's on the menu.

At least three turkeys are inbound
A green bean casserole
A spinach Quiche
2 pecan pies
Salad Mix

I'm going to the grocery store this afternoon and will pick up something to boil and/or bake. Will have a pot with fresh water in it, and the sun oven as well. I'll add whatever I'm going to fix to the list this afternoon.

Feel free to add to the list :)

I will be working the grill again with more grill /bbq meat . I guess we got plenty of meat .. just need more sides.

I will bring a cooler of drinks also.

I'll bring some tarps or plywood or old ripstop and some fence posts to make a wind break for the cooking area. Some days none is needed... others, without it, you'll never cook much of anything big.

So as of right now there are 3 birds. Terry is asking how many he needs to pick up. I just did a head count of those registered for the event. There are 41 people registered. I hope everyone that plans on attending has registered by now.

Anyone who has ever attended DBBB knows organization is not one of our strong points... but from what I hear through the grapevine... and talking with various participants... an excellent feast is on the way. I love the usual questions... how do I heat this up? We wing it. This year we can use solar power, along with multiple grills. Weather is forecast to be lower 60's and clear skies. We'll find a spot on the flats for the current wind direction, but starting Friday through the weekend it is forecast to be perfect. Temps near 70 and almost dead onshore winds... which allows runs that stretch into miles. I like to go to the water tower and back, some will go many more miles.

You never know what's on the menu other than Fried Turkey, but great people and great food always show up. It's something to be thankful for on Thanksgiving.
