8-22-2016 Update

Got them all minus the 5m.

8-19-2016 Update

I was lucky enough a while back to pick up the 3m. Flying it today in up and down gusty conditions made me realize how good these kites really are. Ozone got this one right.

I'm now looking for the rest of the sizes to complete the set.
-----

I once had this kite and it was my "gold standard". I need this kite again to compare and contrast kites against and use it as a baseline.

Ozone Samurai 2m on ebay..been for a year! Might be a close enough match? k.o. I am sure they would take reasonably less than asking.

I see them pretty regularly on UK eBay. Most will ship across the pond if you ask. Matter of fact, my 2m came from England. Good luck bro.

Here's my theory:

Say for example Ozone sold a total of 200 2m Flows over the course of the years they made them. Today, 5 still active kiters have them and still use them. 195 of these kites are out there. Inactive kiters won't be on this forum, and therefore the kites aren't for sale. All 195 of them.

I get this impression from all the kite gear ever sold still in the hands of inactive kiters.

skimtwashington - 18-12-2014 at 08:03 PM

..so how will you ever connect with those 195 inactive kiters who will never be on this forum(by your theory)?

I don't think 97.5% of these kiters are holding on to kites they no longer use.

I think they were sold ......to NEWER inactive owners:lol:

Don't think too much , just look for sellers already selling at different sites.

But your shout out here may work...time will tell.

ask if they'll ship to USA

I tried to buy that one but it sold already.

Back to the top. Still in the market and searching. If you ever see one for sale; let me know.

I tried to get Ozone to custom build me one before they got out of land kite foils in a single color(any color!), no screenprint, and optional mesh intakes(at their discretion), and any bridle material. They wouldn't do it!

What I miss about this kite is it's mysterious "turbo boost". It would "shift gears" literally. At a certain speed; I don't remember exactly the mph; it may have been 22mph; the kite would literally and visibly surge forward with more power and bring on more speed. This is the only kite I have ever seen exhibit this trait. Did anyone here ever fly a 2m Flow and see this?

If for example from the years of 2008-2012(not sure on the dates), Ozone built a total of 200(?) 2m Flows; a good chance 200 are sitting on shelves and in closets now. The irony of this situation is none of them are for sale and their owners no longer visit the forums; let alone fly them!

I once saw a BLUE 2m Flow and I think it was on this forum! Man that would be cool to have. It may have even been a 3m or 4m. It was light blue. If anyone can find the pic of the light blue Flow I'd like to see it. I searched but it's too buried.

Want to buy the 2m, 4m, and the 5m.

The Flows are pretty epic! Just keep a daily watch on the UK eBay

IFlyKites - 19-8-2016 at 04:00 PM

The Flow definitely exceeded my expectations! It's currently my only kite I use for static and it's crazy fun.

I remember taking it out on a light wind day and it performed a lot better than I thought, (in 6-7 knot winds). Once winds picked up to 10-12 knots, it seemed to have this power surge; kind of as you described. Accelerated like a wasp on drugs and the power it generated was almost enough for me to start skidding. I'm sure I will be able to board with it once winds pick up. The Flow doesn't disappoint!

To add to 3shot, look on the German eBay, (how I got my flow a few months ago). Just be aware that you'll be using Google Translate more than you're used to ;)

Just buggied from noon to 9pm using the 3m Flow. Kite cruises easily in the 20's and did 31mph as top speed for the day. Only rode 25 miles total due to the up and down wind.
