Thanks to weldngod, I was able to try out a wind meter. I've had it long enough to know I don't need it and want to pass it along to another PKF
member who might be able to benefit from it. The only rules are you have to pass it along to another member when you are finished.

Way to pay it forward. And thanks to Weldngod for providing the opportunity. After a while reading the wind becomes second nature. You may get a few
confused looks from your non-flying friends though when they notice that whenever you are outdoors you are intensely studying the nearest tree or
flag.

Why don't you need it?

Sadsack,
I suspect that Ssayre has discovered he can judge the wind by feel and windicators in the area now.
Since you like to make things I HIGHLY recommend you try building a wind sock. A spinner is even better. After a while one glance at a wind sock ( or
flag ) can tell you so much more about the wind than a meter can. Other windicators like trees, flags and the water tell a lot as well. Water tends to
white cap at 10 kts and that seems to be when I can start jumping. Wind meters only tell you the wind speed at the ground level. Often the wind is
stronger and different up high. My wind meter is buried so deep in my kite shed I would have a tough time locating it.

Bladerunner is exactly correct. The only indicators he can use that I have no experience with are water indicators. I don't have much of that around
me.
