I just got some of the new Peak2's in....4m, 6m, and 9m...and they they look SWEET!!!!
In typical Flysurfer fashion they have made some really nice improvements to the already fantastic Peak1, e.g. upgraded bar, depower trim, better
boosting, improved canopy profile....and still at fantastic prices for kites complete w/bar and lines
If anyone wants to demo these kites come on over to Muskegon, MI. You will be amazed... I promise.

At the moment we are still waiting for snow. but some of the lakes have been forming ice...so hopefully we are on the road to another epic season.
PRAY FOR SNOW!!!!

Even thought here was no snow here today I was able to fly the 4m Peak2 very briefly in a nice 12-15 kt breeze at the beach....I only had a few
minutes to try it, but I figure "what the hell?"...it only took about 1 minute to launch it, and another minute to pack it up...a feature which alone
makes these Peaks so enjoyable!
Adding to some of the comments made above here are some of the differences from the Peak1 that I have noticed so far:
- The Peak2 kites have a mixer so you can fine tune and do maintenance tunes on the kite control
- The new bar is an "Infinity Light" bar. It has a below bar swivel that works great! As I mentioned in past Peak1 related posts, I use a CORE bar
with my CORE LEI kites, which has a similar below bar swivel with a split-ferule bar/double depower line, which allows for super easy untwisting of
line after a kiteloop. This is a really nice addition .
- The bar also incorporates a slightly different mini-fifth line system - basically an FLS - that is a little more complex than the Peak1, however it
seems to work well and gives you more landing options..
- They have added foam "line floats" to cover the leader lines. I am not sure if the light floats are all that necessary, although they do provide a
nice sleeve for the new adjustable leader lines and keep any loose tails from dangling around.
- The 9m and 12m have a longer bar than the 6m and 4m. The Peak1 kites had one size bar which was the same size as the Peak2 shorter bars.
- The Peak 2 bar has many advantages and improvements, however the concession is that the weight of the bar is increased. Overall it's not a big
issue for me, however I did notice it right away when I picked up the bag. Based on FS data the new bar adds .6kg to the overall kite/bar/lines
package. Apparently the Peak2 kite is slightly lighter than the Peak1. Overall it does not make much of a difference unless you really need to keep
pack weight really low.
- also, they added little pull tabs on the eyesplice on the ends of the lines, which will make it super easy to loosen the larkshead and detach lines
with cold fingers/or adding extensions in the field if desired.

Is there any lift with that kite or is it still considered a touring kite? I am looking for another kite for free style, Frenzy maybe...

The new Peak2 has more lift than the original as well as increased turn speed that will make it more huckable but its still on the touring end of the
spectrum while the Frenzy is definitely more on the freestyle end of the spectrum. :D
