Thinking of getting into snowkinting. Doing great on water but usually going small on land. Not into racing, not into wakestyle, not into rails but
love carbon fiber boards for water being so light and good in jumps, upwind and transitions.
Need a good advise on what to look for when choosing gear for snowkiting.
#1. The board: I guess for board the width is defined by boot size, the length about shoulder-to-ear. What else? Flex, radius, rocker, twin-tip,
material....what should I aim for?
Maybe there are safe bets from brand perspective and something to dream of (like my Spleene RIP for water)
#2. bindings/boots: what to look for? Any safe bets or "dream gear" to check out?
Any suggestions folks?

#1) No advice for a board. I went used gear swap and got something sized right, and that I didn't mind to beat up as I was learning and didn't want to
trash my normal board (the dream split board I saved up for). Dream gear I'd love to own a http://www.mnkiteboy.com/ for running on ice (a frozen lake is often my place of choice). Splitboard if you find one gives some advantage for dead
wind coming back (on snowboard I carry my snowshoes for long trips, after a fateful bad one, and on skis I carry poles). Board height goes off of
weight and your height, and secondly snow conditions (deep powder, icy, etc...)
#2) My biggest advice is don't cheap out or go with used boots. Find something comfortable, if local places carry it try them on. Boots are too
individual to offer up much view, and I don't know anything to talk really. I love my Size 12 Ride Snowboards Brand, Anthem BOA Coiler boots, and
they've lasted well, but it's their fit and comfort that led to it.
#3) Bindings: Assuming you don't go splitboard (which there's limited options for bindings then) I would love (and don't have) a form of step in
binding over the traditional. Flows would be the other top to consider.
Sorry I'm not more help, and good luck! I love kiting on the snow
EDIT: I've always wanted to try swivel plates, but that's a whole different thing

I've heard a "kitesnowboard" term. I guess it means what is says but what are the specifics for the kiting?
I'd guess:
- less curve/radius and width difference in waist and tips
- rocker, not camber
Right? Or is it just a marketing trick while there are more suitable "snowboard" snowboards?
Another question - in kiteboards composite/glass vs. carbon fiber deliver two different levels of happiness. Is there anything similar (materials
used) in snowboards?
