Resetting the chicken loop on a depower

Hi all, a question regarding resetting the kite after pulling the chicken loop safety release on my Peak. This question is not specific to the Peak though, applies to any depower foil.

After pulling the safety I always go through the procedure of securing the kite, then walking the lines to be sure there are no twists or anything before relaunching.

This all takes quite a bit of time. Is it necessary?

Or do you just retrieve the bar, reset the safety and relaunch?

i do know that there is nothing worse than thinking i should have checked the lines/bridle
this feeling increases proportionately w/ wind speed

if conditions warrant to popping chicken loop, then I always secure the kite and re-walk all lines. When I have not, I've relaunched into inverts & bowties. You've got the right idea!

:D yep once you've pulled the pin anything can happen. I always check and walk the lines. Didn't Johnny Cash sing about that?
