Anybody done this before? Looks like you have no choice but to cut the ends off the straps that hold the spreader bar/pad in place. The ends on the
adjustable straps are doubled over and stitched so they will stop at the buckle when loosened up all the way. In other words, the strap end is too
fat to feed through the adjustment buckle so no way to free the spreader bar without cutting.

Undo the stitches with a seam ripper
Replace spreader bar.
Fold and stitch strap ends again.
