Peter Lynn twister 2 5.6

Hi guys and gals

I need some advice on the set up of the above kite!

I flew it for the first time yesterday on the beech in 10/12 mph winds at first in the bar..( which was pants) as everyone on hear basically said.

It didn't seem to want to lift just spin to one side and crash.....is checked the lines and re checked and then checked again and they were fine and as they should be!!?

So at first I've bought a dud and was getting a tad frustrated as the sting I was flying first behaved impeccably as always.

After many failed attempts I switched to handles from my flexifoil sting 3.3...and straight away got the wing shape and lifted up from the window to zenith and I was impressed by its lifting power compared to the smaller fb kites we've flown.

My query is this...?.....the kite still seemed to want to fold up on turning from time to time even though the wind was a good constant steady speed for the kite and I felt it's only really worked well when I was literally letting the brake of totally.....can I adjust the power lines so they are shorter and I effectively have less brake on for the most part or shall I get longer handles as the sting handles looked a tad short for the twister as they were the only handles I had to use on the day??

Or do you think I'm just doing something completely wrong?

As always any advice is apprecited guys and gals.

Kind regards

Gusher

If you can take a video of the kite being launched and flown, it may help a lot.

Check list:
*were bridal lines all checked and symmetrical on each side..all lines separate and untwisted?
* All four fly lines are same length within an inch or so..?

This is a new kite? Are you saying you first flew it off a bar and not handles?

FYI: The top lines on my twister stretched by about 5". I had to tie knots 5" in on the top leaders with the knots on the brake leaders tied at the end to provide enough slack. You will most likely need to tune by knots on the leaders to provide the desired amount of slack in brakes.

Your kites should all only FLY right on the front lines. The kite should STALL right on the back lines. That is, when you choose apply them the left, right or whole trailing edge are effected.

Did you swap out lines and handles or just handles? Handles are pretty simple and something that effected the kite that much should be obvious?
