"and heres Chris stunned in general amazement"

Oh YEA! I remember being amazed at that exact moment! Good times for sure! Totally ready for this year. I need a vacation so very badly. And Kite Fort needs to run free on the highway.
Flying down I-95 with the kite buggy hanging on the back, the buggy tires turning slowly in the wind....

PHREERIDER - 10-3-2015 at 09:45 AM

shehatesmyhobbies - 10-3-2015 at 06:01 PM

Wow, how long has it been since Todd, myself and a couple NE guys came down. That very first picture is from when we were ther, the last of the shipwreck runs if I am not mistaken.

Had a great time down there and I hope to be able to visit down there once again although I must admit the only thing I don't miss down there is the humidity. ;)

csa_deadon - 11-3-2015 at 02:50 AM

Had a blast last year with all of you. Wish I could make a repeat trip this year.
May have to do an East coast visit next year.

Demoknight - 11-3-2015 at 06:21 AM

Whatever will we do without our complimentary handle warmers???

PHREERIDER - 11-3-2015 at 07:01 AM

forgot about the shipwreck runs, that was always the very first run i did. got a flag here some where.

tangent time, the reality of a few passing "non-predatory" kite in our whisper of existence to derailing 100,000's of years of avian evolution ??? really? if that where the case the pelicans and gulls DID NOT GET THE NOTICE!...nature is a little more robust than that...extinction IS the more predictable constant on the planet ....what about the 98% that are already gone?

skip the "pet" , "food" and back to regular program

... Demo whats the handle warmer story

PHREERIDER - 11-3-2015 at 12:39 PM

this was 2011 , pretty much ground zero , CWS yellow sock telling the story

PHREERIDER - 11-3-2015 at 12:45 PM

heres Phillip( PCB) scorpion tow master

Demoknight - 11-3-2015 at 12:56 PM

CSADeadOn brought handle warmers last year for the south eastern coastal kiters. Just an inside joke from the guys up north that actually get to kite the white stuff. I still have mine from last year.

PHREERIDER - 11-3-2015 at 01:39 PM

gotcha, heat we got, the hi today 77

kiteballoon - 12-3-2015 at 06:45 PM

Nice pics! You guys been holding them all year to get the hype going. Remember this year it's driftwood beach runs! Don't get wet or chicken out early :)

Demoknight - 13-3-2015 at 07:23 AM

I made it to driftwood last year, but I think I was the only one that went that far north.

3shot - 16-3-2015 at 02:29 PM

I just realized my skin is winter pale. Gonna be a horrific sunburn coming in a few weeks...

Demoknight - 16-3-2015 at 02:39 PM

Just grease up before you get on the beach and you will be good.

Demoknight - 3-4-2015 at 12:06 PM

I still want to try out those Coyotes! I didn't give my Skikes a fair shake last year, but I still have them, so maybe I will give them another shot. I am also pretty sure I want to bring my inlines to try a generous, sharing person's NPW on a streetkite bar in the parking lot.

I am just TOOOOOO excited about this week. Unfortunately, Itay couldn't swing coming this year, but my girlfriend is driving down with me. It will be a blast. Her parents are also renting a house on the island for the whole week as well, so she will have family in and out all week including her brothers, whom I plan to thoroughly hook on kiting. Her younger brother is actually already very interested in kite surfing. He and her older brother have both flown my 5m Tensor before with great success.

Now, I just need to buy an extra set of wheels for my PL XR+ and rig a tandem to give taxi rides...

3shot - 3-4-2015 at 03:35 PM

Gonna miss Itay and that beautiful lime green Access.

soliver - 3-4-2015 at 05:31 PM

I don't think I'm going to get a chance to have a session before JIBE... I'm uber excited!!!

3shot - 3-4-2015 at 05:45 PM

Me neither bro. I will be knocking the dust off my buggy.

soliver - 3-4-2015 at 06:18 PM

I may try to squeeze something in just to try to get a feel for the NS3's in the seat, but not sure if I can. I promised no more lunch break buggy sessions.

Shh... Summit, not Access! Don't let Itay hear you call it an Access!

Demoknight - 3-4-2015 at 10:15 PM

I have had two mini crappy light wind sessions in the last three months. And I mean LIGHT wind. Like wind so light that my 19m Speed 3 deluxe backstalled to the ground while fully trimmed in... I can't wait to get on that Jekyll hard pack and see how the Big Brownie handles in her high end. There will be much sideways buggy action.

acampbell - 4-4-2015 at 03:02 AM

We are waiting for y'all. I see rooster tails of sand in the near future!

3shot - 4-4-2015 at 06:25 AM

And huge splashes from those tide pools.

3shot - 14-4-2015 at 02:57 PM

:D

Cheeks - 14-4-2015 at 02:59 PM

I love those tide pools as well. A good cool off on a hot afternoon.

Angus, is there a car wash at the gas station on the island, where we can rinse off our gear? One with a wand sprayer?

Jason, are those new tires on your bug?

PHREERIDER - 14-4-2015 at 06:12 PM

no car wash. bring hose

rinse off showers at park and maybe a spigot as i remember somewhere.

definitely need the showers ...there may be a sweating situation!

man thats hot ...

frankiter - 14-4-2015 at 07:24 PM

Right next to the large pavilion there’s a rinse off shower. Or as I like to call it, a regular shower. There’s no water hookups for the Kitefort, so Pokite and I try to conserve water. I shower “al fresco” at the rinse off unit. Nothing like a cold shower after a day of buggying!
To keep from being arrested, I wear a bathing suit. Areas north and south of the suit are easy to wash. It’s the stuff under the suit that takes some strategy.

3shot - 15-4-2015 at 03:44 AM

That's the only reason I didn't leave my buggy at kite fort last year. Our cottage had an outside shower with a garden hose next door to rinse off my buggy and other gear every evening after the tidal pools. My buggy is steel, not stainless.

Davis, I had those tires and rims last year. I picked them up from Van too.

No but I can point you to several on the mainland in any direction of travel.
Good point, though. I'll ask around if there is a landscaper's hose faucet near the kite fort that we could use ( I could bring a hose). The lawn in front of the kite fort is shaped like a bowl with a storm drain at the center for great drainage.

PHREERIDER - 15-4-2015 at 05:39 AM

there use to be a spigot right near the bench in kite beach parking lot (finn/ blackbeards whatever restaurant parking lot). i do recall it NOT being there last year. but there is one at great dune at great Pavilion at restrooms beside the showers. its a handleless service bib so bring access hardware.

PHREERIDER - 15-4-2015 at 04:13 PM

this may be the oldest "event" pic i have the first official event i think. had some day meets earlier but can't remember when

Epic Phree!!!!

Cheeks - 15-4-2015 at 05:01 PM

Spencer, don't you have one of square keys that turns out side water faucets on and off?

A key, a hose and a drain. Almost heaven.
Keep that Kite Fort full so Frank can keep his North & South parts clean.

PHREERIDER - 15-4-2015 at 06:12 PM

right on 3Shot ,seems like last week. davis your concern for clean parts has expanded

Paragraph 9 sub section C of the Kite Fort code of conduct states that ..."Cleaning of ALL parts BETWEEN North & South parts shall be conducted using the outside shower and shall take no more than 10 seconds...."

Just want to be sure their are no ... violations

Demoknight - 16-4-2015 at 06:25 PM

PHREE do you still have those Coyotes? I think I saw you get them out last year, but you never put them on your feet. I want to give those a shot in a couple weeks to see if my skating legs will work with a kite...

PHREERIDER - 17-4-2015 at 05:56 AM

yep still have them, still have same flat tires. i have tubes best i remember. should all be still stuffed in the boots. i will bring, pump and tools in truck. kind of a self serv situation with those. if the wind is crappy today maybe i'll go on rampage of repair.

soliver - 17-4-2015 at 12:18 PM

No I don't... sorry. But you can buy them at most hardware stores.

Only thing is, that style of hose bib is usually used when the OWNER doesn't want the general public to have access to their water... so if guys want to access and use that spigot, you'll probably want to get Angus to get JIA permission first... just sayin

Even though I really don't want to suffer the smell of FranS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s North and South parts, it's not entirely up to me

Just because I ate one or two meals sitting in my kite buggy in my garage I get labeled...

With a 16 meter in your face
You get sprung....

tridude - 20-4-2015 at 10:56 PM

Sol,

If I make the event you need to fly my 15m SA 2 or 17m Zephyr in the bug conditions warranted of course..........both available at your finger tips

Demoknight - 21-4-2015 at 08:18 AM

If it is less than 20mph, I will be getting a lot of buggy time under the Big Brown Bastard. That is what I lovingly call the 19m S3 Deluxe. I can tell how awesome the wind range is, but I still haven't flown it in anything over 10mph of wind. Conditions just haven't been right here since I got the kite. I have flown it 3 or 4 times, but only two of those times were what I would call successful. Magical kite, but even it won't pull a buggy in dead air.
