SOLD - 13 meter Ozone Frenzy Ultralite - SOLD

Cheddarhead - 17-3-2015 at 03:22 PM

Up for grabs is an extremely nice 2014 13m Ozone Frenzy in Ultralite fabric. I haven't owned this particular kite for very long so it is still in pristine condition. Flown only on snow and grass. No rips, cuts, stains or patches of any kind. Kite comes complete and ready to fly. Owners manual and leash did not come with the kite when I bought it as a demo. I will thrown in a mint condition Peter Lynn leash so new owner doesn't need to get one. Due to the ultralite fabric I've been able to launch this kite in just a puff of wind. How much low end pull is all dependent on rider weight and surface type. Kite has fifth line safety.

I've come to terms with my riding style and have realized that I don't need this much performance in a kite. I have recently accuired a Peak to replace my low wind needs. Peak is more suitable for our gusty shifty winds we get in WI. Wife said I could get a Peak 2 only on the condition I put the Frenzy up for sale. (sniff, sniff) "Happy Wife, Happy Life", So here it is..

I will include shipping anywhere in the continental U.S. Outside of U.S. I would be willing to share in the cost.

Here is a few Pics of the kite layed out on the grass and in action. Kite has a Red, Orange and white outside with an all white underside.

That Peak2 is nice. Are you getting the 9 we demoed at Mille Lacs or the 12? I'm tempted by your frenzy deal, but I like a happy wife too! Riding all those kites at the race got me excited about a new ride.

Hey Aaron,

I already bought the 12 that was for sale here on the forum:D My understanding is that the 9 & 12 overlap quite a bit. I think you and I are in the heavy weight category (200+), so the 12 would have a decent top end for either of us, so I went with the 12. It was a fair price for that much low wind performance and depower, so I couldn't pass it up, especially when the wife gives you her blessing:o

Just had my new-to-me 13m UL for its first spin in the buggy today... pretty much the same kite that Cheddar is selling here. I gotta say I'm very happy with it.

Winds were definitely testing this kites absolute low end. I was on a relatively narrow beach with a slight pitch, sand was fairly firm though was causing a decent bit more resistance than real hard-pack. Winds coming from the NNW forcing many turns on this strip that runs N-S. It wasnt a fast ride by any means but I was still totally able to work myself upwind. There was a couple puffs where the wind picked up slightly(I want say to like... maybe 7?) and I could feel the kite start to come alive, able to get a couple park-n-ride runs in.

Sooo glad I got the UL fabric. I'm very happy with the turn radius it gives this 13m. Beat my expectations. I was able to downloop at times where I was pretty certain that I shouldn't... without even skimming the ground. The UL version is said to offer a 25% weight reduction over the standard cloth. Well it turns out that is a VERY critical 25% of the weight. As I'm half expecting it to stall out, this thing would keep climbing to zenith ready for the next down stroke.

These UL's are very expensive when new. Maybe you're thinking that the UL fabric isn't worth that much extra cost. The fact is, if you're looking for a depower wing this size, you NEED the light weight fabric. The added maneuverability is a godsend. Conveniently Cheddar's is nearly half price with very little use. Buy it.

I can't recommend this kite enough.
