Can anyone tell me how the Kenda Beach Racers stack up to the BigFoot Light tires for soft sand and beach? They are a ribbed tire rather than smooth.
I really like my BigFoot Lights for dunes and beach and wonder if the Kendra Beach Racers would be a good replacement.

I've spent the last 6 months forming an opinion on what to get for beach riding. Negatives on Beach racers were heavy weight, and that to get a good
contact area on the tire, they needed to be mounted on a 2.5 to 4" wide rim which I think is kind of funny looking. Also there were complaints about
tires being out of round/balance. The Eurotrax are also heavy and also had issues with roundness/balance. The best combo I found was the Duro tire
21/12x8 that we use for BFL but got them mounted on Asymetric 8" wheels for back and an 8" symmetric wheel for front. Also, for added traction, the
tires have 13 sharp circumferential grooves cut into the rubber. This is the combo most racers in Europe are using and I trust their research and
opinion.
In the past, I've had 2 sets of BFLs and they do a great job on the soft sand but tend to slip and slide on the firm sand since they only use the
friction of the rubber to hold an edge. I think the grooves and wider wheels will both help with traction and flotation in soft sand on the setup
I've chosen. I can post pictures if it will help. Can't wait to run them on a beach!
