I had a great time at Ivanpah this year. I was saddened to show up and realize there were 2 buggy camps on the lake bed. I had a great time buggying
and visiting with all my friends. I was glad that El Mirage was closed so all my friends who were not attending IBX were still at Ivanpah and I could
visit.
I did not go to Ivanpah the last 2 years and missed all the hooplah. I spent some time talking to people at both camps about the NABX/ IBX situation
and I understand both sides of the story and I can see where everyone is coming from.
It is unfortunate that a situation like this has come up in our close knit community. Everyone's point of view seemed very understandable and
justified. I don't think anyone needs to change their mind or point of view. But I think it would be great to find some reconciliation and move
forward with more unity. In the least can we have the camps closer together so I don't have to walk so far?
All of you will always have a special place in my heart, I just want to see you all at Ivanpah every year (even if I have to walk a long way)PHREERIDER - 7-4-2015 at 09:39 AM

humans are funny ...buttered side up or buttered side down.
seems petty for such beautiful elements of the planet to play in for all

At this point it's been a while since I've seen evidence that anyone wants to remain separate. As mentioned on Facebook, it seems that a
reconciliation is in the works. But that door only seemed to open up last week. When face to face, everyone is friendly and cordial. I visited the
NABX camp 2 different times last week and had great conversations with many friends camped with them. We has extra food left over from the banquet on
Friday night and took it to their camp to share. Maybe just a little more time will totally bring us all back together. awindofchange - 7-4-2015 at 11:53 AM
Might be two different camps, but we all ride on the same wind and in the same space. Michael Gaylan - 7-4-2015 at 06:19 PM
Strange world when political views can come between man and the laws of nature...
reconciliation .. ..

I recall the time before IBX (in 2013) when core NABX separated themselves from the main group. It was odd, and perhaps a bit of foreshadowing.

A case of one big ego, pot, bad management and doing everything on the cheap so as to be able to make a living out of it
vs.
good management by a team that isn't making a living from it and trying to do everything right! Just sayin...skimtwashington - 8-4-2015 at 06:38 PM
You can make a living off one event?

No man steps in the same river twice for the river has changed and so has the man.
There is no going back. We can only move forward and hopefully bring with us those things we hold dear.
While the universe is limitless, our existence in it is not. Just remember, the soul has a limited load capacity. If you're carryin' a grudge, you're
probably leaving something far more valuable behind.WELDNGOD - 8-4-2015 at 06:48 PM
I sure hope there is a reconciliation between the 2 groups. I was under the impression that we were one group ,with one huge passion for a sport that
is a lot more fun with friends. And the more the merrier.
SO LETS GET BACK TO BEING MERRY!!!BeamerBob - 8-4-2015 at 06:51 PM
For balance, I must say that the event that NABX put on required a hard working team and good management to do right like it appeared to me in 2012.
Something broke in the end and the greatest buggy event in the world stopped happening.
As far as IBX goes, we're working on the good management part of things. Our third year should have the big chunks of event management running more
smoothly. Our team added some key members during the event this year to make it bigger than any two people. The goal is to get it to where if
someone drops a ball, it's no big deal for another to pick it up and run with it.
Referring to the money side of things, IBX has always said our books are open to anyone that wants to see where the money goes. I want to put the
major expenses and revenues on the website. Even with only charging $50, someone asked why they needed to pay the money and where does it all go.
Since Brian and I pay for registration just like everyone else, and totally donate the time required to put on the event, I'd rather people look at
the pluses and minuses and say "wow, I really appreciate those corporate sponsors helping keep the registration price as low as $50". Last year we
barely ended up in the black after all was paid for. We did better this year, so the event is growing and prospering and we have some latitude to do
a few more nice things for those that attend in 2016. Discussions for next years event have already been in full swing.WELDNGOD - 8-4-2015 at 06:54 PM
If I come all the way across the U.S., I don't want to have to walk to another camp to meet some of my "family" for the first time.BeamerBob - 8-4-2015 at 09:36 PM
I can't control others thoughts or actions but I get the feeling that we'll all be together for 2016. tridude - 8-4-2015 at 09:40 PM

WELDNGOD - You won't have to walk. You can ride (your buggy).
