beat unit gets mixer revival FS psycho 4 12m

PHREERIDER - 14-4-2015 at 08:07 AM

my FS P4 12m has pulled a ton sessions , i has used this unit for water and landboard rides for all purposes almost daily.

truly quick and easy up and down, very easy easy to take for granted.

its on the 2/3rd set of lines both fly and mixer. and countless depower lines.

So, having just replaced the mixer lines on both sides. the unit flew fine as always(or just use the its poor quirks maybe) and keep on using it.

for a month or so things have picked up and back to heavier daily sessions. i was going thru some kite junk and doing repairs and decided to do a mixer test on the P4 , though i use this unit alot i never think of doing as easy as it is....wow .

the front/rear fixed mixer segments both sides off(long)by about 3 INCHES. knotted that baby up, pull in the mixer even...holy cow the bar feels alive again. so much smoother in light air and pops so much better.

amazing how used you can get to weak performance or just make it work .

Phree, from the title, I thought you were gonna tell us about your drum machine and mixing board you used at a tent revival where you face slapped a psycho for 12 minutes...

But your actual info is kewl too.

Just like a re trim on an aircraft motor sweet sound and performance.............I this FS recommends a retune every 50 flight hrs or was it 25 .........either way the mixer test is easy.......are your knots aligned? loved the vid too.......

Thanks for this post I need to check my SA before jibe..........sorry for the hijack

man they were totally whacked. A main and Z are so stretched out .

I did go not do a spec measure , went with limiting C length and equaled across the rest tried to keep it easy and did them equal. i have speed 3 project which might get done before JIBE, like 20 internal rib repairs! unit is complete in Deluxe fab so i'm excited about it, so when i'm in that "repair mode" i'll whip out some new mixer lines and mains.

planned on doing vid/pic of repair project but may default to "just fix it!" to get done. we'll see.

Thanks for reminding me....

helped remind how CLOSE to the edge the thing will go , definitely gives the sensitivity back !

Is there instructions how to do a mixer test online? I just replaced a broken bridle leg on the peak (Provided by John at Powerzone and big thanks to him!) and I noticed there is what looks like lines that can be adjusted just on the bar side of the pulleys.

Edit: Found it, it's a 2009 video but I get the idea now.
