Getting excited about my new kite!
it's a Big E NPW 21
Ian Mills aka bigE123 is a great guy and is building me a custom NASA 6m.
You've seen his colorful assortment of NPW's in his signature.
Ian has been wonderful to work with, has communicated well
keeping me up to date about the build and with pictures.
Thought I'd show you all the latest picture he sent me. Ready to attach the wings. Bridling next.
My wife said my new NPW is sexy. :duh:

Thanks for the kind words Cheeks, one wing on with lettering, one to go then you can see the finished kite prior to bridles.bigE123 - 17-4-2015 at 09:57 AM
Kite complete, now for all those stringy things :D

Sweet!! Nice work E!!
Hope it makes it to JIBE Davis.Cheeks - 17-4-2015 at 08:06 PM
Years ago (70's) when I had my Skynasaur kite flying school in Gulfport, MS on the beach there,
I told my students that we were "Wind Wrestling" because of the power they were experiencing.
I had rebuilt the competition bridles with stainless steel braided wire and flew them on kevlar lines.
The pull I was getting out of the Dacron sails was almost scudding power. Those Deltas could pill a buggy!
That's why I had Ian letter the side of my NPW with "Wind Wrestler". Why not?
Yes, I should have it by JIBE. Being sent as a gift, person to person the fastest way and I'm going to send Toby
some Milk Bones.
BTW, NFS.bigE123 - 19-4-2015 at 11:12 AM
And...... it flies! :D
First test flight, wind @4mph but enough to test in four line mode and check everything, Z-bridle to fit now, one more flight before it's bound for
pastures new.

That is just awesome E!!!
Again, nice job. Cheeks - 19-4-2015 at 03:34 PM
It's alive !!! It's alive !!! Wind Wrestler is ALIVE.
This build has been amazing so far.
Concept to near completion at this point.
Finished build getting near.
Thanks Ian. Was it fun?
I Can't wait to give it a fly!markite - 19-4-2015 at 04:00 PM
It looks nice, it'll be even better putting it up in blue skies on a sunny beach in a couple of weeks1oldkid - 19-4-2015 at 05:29 PM
Man that looks great! bigE123 - 20-4-2015 at 12:42 AM
Thanks everyone, well was it fun? The wind I had was just enough, initially the wind was @5mph and I managed to grab the photo, for the first time I
had an NPW fly over my head! 15 mins later virtually no wind, a couple of mph it still flew but needed to be kept moving, if I stopped moving the
kite, it just slid down no collapse, another good sign. Wind is forecast for 8mph today with blue skies so hopefully a sunny send off.Randy - 20-4-2015 at 03:39 AM
That's a great looking kite and I'm betting it will fly as equally as well as it looks!
BTW - it looks like your dog is rolling his eyes as if to say 'another kite?":Dsoliver - 20-4-2015 at 04:20 AM
I'm excited to see it!!! I hope it makes it to you before JIBE, Davis!!!
Great work Ian, that thing looks awesome!!!bigE123 - 20-4-2015 at 04:55 AM
Here we go Z-bridle fitted and tuned.... do I have to give it up now? :D
Enjoy Davis
@Randy we have three dogs and that is Toby who usually sits there starting what we call "The Buffet queue" to let me know it's tea time.
That's the same look my wife gives me when a roll of material appears along with the sewing machine :DJohn Holgate - 20-4-2015 at 03:04 PM
Looks brilliant Ian. Well done! RedSky - 20-4-2015 at 03:34 PM
Very nice! I'll double what ever Cheeks is paying you. :D
Michael Gaylan - 20-4-2015 at 05:32 PM
I've been seeing a lot of positive reviews on the NASA wings. The design you have is spot on and will make a BANG-UP addition to your already bad ass
quiver Davis.
Ian appears to have some great talent!tridude - 20-4-2015 at 11:08 PM
Looks great..........hope to see you and the kite at JI.........bigE123 - 21-4-2015 at 12:40 AM
And now it's my turn to be jealous with you all meeting up at Jibe hope the wind is good for you all! Again thanks for all your comments.ssayre - 21-4-2015 at 04:15 AM
Very nice work E. I especially like the font of the lettering. Really nice touch. Do you fly yours with z bridle?bigE123 - 21-4-2015 at 04:55 AM
The font was a no-brainer :D I used the "NASA" font on my big NASA and thought it is a fitting tribute.
Yes, I first test fly them without then add a Z-bridle, I find it easier in the buggy with one fitted, that said for static I prefer without, just
adds a bit more skill and allows me to really see what's going on. I make them now so I can larks head one on or drop it off in a couple of seconds.Cheeks - 29-4-2015 at 03:56 PM
Kite love!!!!
Got the NPW this morning. 8 days total postage time from the UK.
All I can say is IT'S GREAT!!!!!!
The craftsmanship is superb. bigE123 is a master builder.
I am totally satisfied.
As usual, new kite syndrome prevailed. It rained today. :-(
but tomorrow is looking good for a fly, can't wait .
