On the road by this time next week

Demoknight - 23-4-2015 at 12:33 PM

Work is so stressful lately, but I don't even care. I am taking a half day next Friday with the girlfriend to leave no later than 3pm for our long road trip down south to Yuengling-land. I have the buggy complete except for my Weird Beard rear panel, and she is looking beautiful. I have my kite quiver fully stocked and ready for anything but a hurricane. I have our bicycles tuned and ready. I have our coolers ready to be stocked with booze and foodstuffs. I have the lady and her family super excited to come partake in the fun, and I couldn't be more ready to go myself. It has been far too long since I took time off work... I got a couple of buggy sessions in the last few weeks, and this weekend is shaping up to be right nuking and perfect conditions to stretch the legs on the 3.5m R2013 and the 12m CH2. It doesn't look like I will have wheels for the Comp XR+ in time, so the only thing I am missing is a tandem setup.

I am going to be making at least one trip to driftwood beach and back, and hopefully borrowing a tandem rig for a little while to take the girlfriend and family for a few rides. I wonder if I can find something to make a cup holder out of...

I would buy that based on name and label alone if I saw it in the store...

I do illustration and image retouching and a lot is for packaging so I'm always buying stuff just for the artwork. I also picked up these beers just because i thought i could re-worrk the artwork to a nice buggy logo

Maybe we need to do beer tasting eve too like the WW gang did

Mark...

Every night is beer tasting night.

Since I am driving, maybe I can bring some Three Floyd's brews with me. They are typically pretty hard to find, even locally here, so I will do my best to find some to bring.

markite - 23-4-2015 at 02:51 PM

i better save some after breakfast then:D

oh and Errol, you know next week at this time will still be thursday right.

Demoknight - 23-4-2015 at 02:57 PM

Yeah, my math was a bit fuzzy when I was writing it. That is how excited I am. My mind is already there.

LOL. I'll try to snag a cool regional brew too. It will either be win or fail. Consume, or water the plants..

Errol, you're welcome to use my Tandem rig to give your lady and her parents rides if you want!

I miss my old PL XL. For nothing else but to toss on the roof for reserves for another kite peep or back-up.

Well, it is a nice light weight buggy. I still have mine in pieces, but it doesn't have wheels. If anyone has a set of wheels I might be willing to buy them off you at JIBE. My front fork is the 12mm bolt, but rears are 20mm. If you don't have bearings, I can take care of that. I have extra bearings, though some of them will require lots of lube to break loose.

I think I am almost at the point that I want to rig up a small buggy for jumping. I love doing static jumps often, and I want to get into jumping in motion now. I am definitely a good enough pilot for it at this point.

I appreciate the offer Spencer! Did you lengthen that downtube yet? I remember last year you complained that your downtube was a bit short and caused your rails to dig in your legs a bit.

You guys crack me up. Joan and I are psyched.

Travel safe!!

pokitetrash - 24-4-2015 at 10:16 AM

Yea I lengthened it and its a much more comfortable fit... Here's the post I did about that if you're interested http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=29088#pid27...

Also, I made the "hitch" for the tandem removable so you can tow the tandem from your buggy without much hassle if you want... about the tandem: http://www.powerkiteforum.com/viewthread.php?tid=29531#pid28...
