Hi, I'm new to the forums and just wanted to say HI and see if there is anyone in and around my area that Land Kiteboards, Kite jumps or anything to
do with power and traction kites. I have been in SA for 15 years and have not come across any other power kiters. I mainly fly out at Peasall Park out
near my house. My current kite collection is mostly LEI kites but I started in the sport back in the 90's with an original Hawaiian team kite and a 4
stack of 6' Flexifoils, then on to a 2 stack of Flexi 8 footers and then moved on to the original Quad tracs in the mid to late 90's
Current collection... (still buying)

Welcome! Hopefully you have more luck finding others in your area than I have had finding any in mine.

Welcome from southern Idaho!
There's not many buggies here either...
That is quite a collection of big kites you have!

Welcome. You've been going longer than almost anyone else! I hope you find others to fly with. Stick with it.

Thanks, I really got into power kiting in the early to mid 90's living in Corpus Christi and then had a little bit of a hiatus for about 5 years after
moving to SA in 2000. Unfortunately here in San Antonio we have a total lack of wind most the time so all my smaller 5 and 8 meter kites just did not
have the pull or lift I needed (craved) so I started collecting giant kites. A few I got very good deals on and only needed new valves or the valves
needed to be glued on what was an almost brand new kite. I have taken a few of my friends out and a couple have shown some interest and are starting
to ask when I am going out so they can tag along, I'm hoping they catch the bug.
A couple have also come out and tried it and after having to go rescue them downrange, they just tell "that's alright....you go have fun.. we'll
watch" LOL

Hello and welcome to the forums. We are pretty scattered much like yourself.
Our closest anual kiting event will be in Galveston. Make sure you check out the other event forums for more information on on anual events across the
country. Its worth the drive trust me. Places and people you will never forget!!

Hello and welcome to the forum! I have some family in San Antonio, but its been AGES since I've been there. Enjoy the Janky inland winds!
I know there's quite a few folks in the Dallas area that are kiters, but I'm thinking Dallas is some ways away form you.. (shows how well I know my
geography )

LOL! Yeah, tell me about the jenky winds. Dallas is quite a bit of a drive. I'm lucky to just get out to the lake, let alone the coast lately. Most of
the winds where I have been flying are 5 maybe 10mph....and that's on a good day! That's why most of my kites are the size of small apartment
buildings. LOL I really miss living on the coast sometimes.
Speaking of big kites, this is one I just got day before yesterday. Gonna take it out tomorrow and give it a whirl. :D
