Yep, it's ON!!! To celebrate the re-launch of ExtremeKites, we're giving away a brand spanking new Born Kite Nasa Star 3, 3,2m complete with bar and lines in custom ExtremeKites colors. Should have been pretty instant. I can see on the members list that it is still waiting for a response to the email, so I think I've bypassed that and approved you. So you should be right to log in - if not let me know. Use my email: jhn.holgate@gmail.com that way I'll pick it up during work and can pass on a message to the tech guru!

edit: also check your spam folder in case it ended up in Spam.

Ooops, big network crash at the moment with I'm told over 4000 sites down including XK. Network engineers trying to fix it. Must be a doozy!

I'm not sure I would sell the 2.5 if I were you. It looks like it's your highest wind kite. It would be just right when fall winds are around 25ish. The 3.2 may well be too powered in the upper 20's. You can tell a big difference with small increments of size on smallish kites in big wind.

Jason and Sean - you guys talked me into it... I'll keep my 2.5M NS3!

The winds have been so darn light for what seems like forever that I was having a hard time thinking that there was ever going to be enough wind where I kite to overpower the 3.2. It makes complete sense what you are saying now that I stopped and thought about relative versus absolute size differences. Strictly by the numbers, the 3.2 will be 28% larger than the 2.5. Up at the higher range of FB kite sizes that's numerically equivalent to going from a 9M nearly up to a 12M!

Done - they're all staying in the quiver!

Around 20knots I'm starting to feel a little too powered with the 3.2m - then the 2.5m is perfect! The reason I got my first 3.2m is that I always felt there was just too much of a gap between the 2.5m and the 4m.

Plus you can hand the 2.5m to anyone to fly in more moderate conditions without scaring them too much!

I got my kite in the post today! The box was in great shape (unlike the last international shipment!). The kite was incredibly nice, in the fine quality and style that we've become accustomed to with all Born-Kites. Extremely thankful to John Holgate and Steffen Born for their generosity.

Now I just need enough wind to fly the bugger!!!! :singing:

I fashioned the bar into a "street kite" setup without the chicken loop (I've already got one of those). I've got some 5m lines on order from Big Mike, with the plan being to rig up a short line street setup with my smaller NS3s and try some buggying on pavement in parking lots near home. Should be a fun new skill to develop!
