My folks caught this on their "trail cam" a couple of days ago in upper Michigan. What you think it is: Wolf or Coyote

I'm thinking coyote myself, going by the color of the muzzle, but not sure.

I voted coyote, too. I think a wolf's tail is brushier, but will have to defer to Sam, (indigo wolf) as he was raised by wolves.

The T4 tail (pointed towards the ground) would indicate an omega (packless) wolf or one low in the pack hierarchy. The T4 tail also makes it hard to tell how bushy the tail is.

The snout looks narrow enough for a coyote.

If there was something for reference to better gauge size, id would be easier.

As it is upper Michigan, you can't rule out the possibility of it being a coywolf.

Probably way more than you wanted to know about your furry neighbors.... :D

We have coywolves here. Theyre called Eastern Coyotes. Not a big as wolves though one that I see from time to time locally is about the size of a medium German Shepard. Much bigger than a coyote by a long shot.
