Kite buggying & kite surfing from 2001

On a warm summers day with perfect on shore breezes you'd expect to see wall to wall kitesurfers at Cambersands.



Well in 2001 you'd be lucky to see about two or three. A guy I know has recently uploaded this video where kite buggies out number kite surfers.

Chris Calthrop kitesurfing with a flexifoil blade at the beginning and again at 4:45. Check the buggy moves too! + some footage from beachy head.

great stuff! man the giant azz land board would take an arm off!

the cat on the water was riding and old pickle fork! great vid quality for the time as well

Yeah that landboard was massive! I'm told that the rider was the most humble person you could meet and completely insane and fearless.

In one scene the guy driving the tandem bug in white somehow fixed his camcorder to his helmet for some of the scenes towards the end of the video.
Camcorders back then were no GoPro's.
