id welcome views on which is best as an all round recreation power kite for my first purchase?Bladerunner - 18-7-2015 at 04:32 PM
I suppose if all round is the goal then the Sting has the advantage. Being a 4 line you can fly it on handles ( as designed ) or dumbed down on a bar.
Rush pro is 3 line. MUCH better than 2 line since you have reverse launch. Still you are flying a 2 line kite and will lack the individual brake
control. Easier to fly but easier to get bored with as well. indigo_wolf - 18-7-2015 at 05:39 PM
Flexfoil Sting 2.4m
Very linear power ramp.... won't suddenly surprise/scare you.
The quad Sting will provide a bit more fine control over the 3 line Rush Pro
In moderate winds, the Sting can be flown fairly leisurely and will prove to be a docile same companion. In the same winds, if you "work the
kite" you'll here the beginnings of a growl and the kite will start generating some actually traction power. You'll never mistake it for a Blade or a
Savage, but that's not what you want as your first kite anyway.
This year's handles are alumninum rather than PVC which is a nice upgradge.
"Kite crocs" at the trailing edge of the kite keep the bridle sorted when you put the kite away.
The kite killers are fairly comfortable and do their job in yeomanly fashion.
Should provide you with many hours of entertainment.

I'd vote for the 2.4m Sting. Might take a few more minutes to get to grips with a 4 line kite than a 3 line kite but will give you much more options
control wise. Peter Lynn Hornet, HQ Beamer, HQ Alpha, HQ Toxic, Zebra Checka, Zebra Z1, Flexifoil Rage, PKD Buster - any of those in 2.5 to 3m will
give you all you need. For a little how to....
+1 for the Sting 2.4. It's the first kite I ever bought, and it's the one I learned on. Not only me, but quite a few family and friends learned to
fly with it as well. I can tell you that thing took a beating!
I upgraded the lines to make it my high wind kite for buggying. I'm glad I did, because we had those high winds at JIBE this year, and I rode about
40 miles with it. Surfdraf - 19-7-2015 at 09:19 AM
