My personal best speed and hight ........

Kober - 31-7-2015 at 05:34 PM

..... Getting new personal best is so exciting... and I want to feel that adrenaline rush again ..... but something is not right .....

Many of you know that I did ride kitetrike for 3 years . There is no secret that it falls apart every time I you pass 20mph speed , and my best I ever did on it was 29mph ..... and it was scary .... very scary ..... After saving some money and selling some gear I was able to purchase new super race buggy - MG Supra ..... All happy I ride it first time 2 years ago on WBB event ..... Experience was amazing , but wind direction was not good for any speed runs . Next WBB event was much better and we did have small window of perfect wind for some speed runs . Me and Reach was going upwind on soft stuff and making speed runs downwind . Got my GPS set , some Honey Whiskey for confidence and 5.1m Gin Tonkawa as an engine . First try I hit 35mph !!!! ..... and it was not scary at all , new buggy was so stable and riding at this speed felt right ...... then each run was faster and faster , until I hit my current personal best 45.7mph with rear wheel in a air ..... That was fast ..... and a bit scary, but proper gear makes it so much easier to achieve . That was almost 2 years ago . Since then I try few times to reach that speed , or go up to 40mph and nothing !!!!! ...... WTF ? First try got my there and fun is over now ???

Now ..... hight ..... Kiteboarding is awesome.... getting air, racing windsurfers, sailboats and other kiters !!! ... so much fun .... Last winter I was able to get used 18m Speed4 and ride it few times on snow . Spring time I am always visiting OBX for nice flat water kiteboarding . This time we was unlucky and we have only 3 days of light wind. I decided to use my new 18m most of time. With our group there was 2 guys from local NJ kite store with new device "WOO" that measures hight of your jumps . I got one !!! and install on my board . 18m kite session in a bit stronger winds and first session with Woo ...... Yep , I felt that I am going high but it was first jumping session with my new kite and I was not expecting much . After session data from woo was downloaded to my phone ..... and ... 31.3 ft for highest jump with few others 28, 29 ....... WOW ... I was amazed .... I try to go higher since then , 4 months ago .. best I got it was 28ft last weekend with my 14m Gin Uru ... WTF ??? again ?,,,,, first try with new gear ? what now ? I need to buy new kite to top that ???

...... and there is more ...... Forecast for weekend was awesome ...... I am looking at it now ...... and there is nothing ..... nothing..... nada .... zip ........ grrrrrrr

Holy crap! I didn't even read the text. I just saw the 31.3' and the 45mph. Awesome man!

Nice! Bloody good jump with a pen 18m!

I'd like to play with a Woo...

People try and tell me that tubes jump higher than foils, but I can't believe it - I reckon they don't have enough experience with foils.

That's higher than a house. They must be big as a house. Good going with the Tonkawa's. The thing about going fast is that you forget how you went slow.

Be nice to see you(or someone) in the water kite surfing at WBB when you come.

And...we could race you in our buggys..:bouncing:

Wow! I'm just happy to make it from one end of the lake and back. Got any video I'd like to see those jumps!

Pretty impressive. Let me guess, you are going to top this again?
