Hey gang, I'm putting the last of my Reactor II's on the for sale block. I thought I might eventually use it again, but I'm just not sure thats going
to happen with how much I am loving my Nasa Star 3 quiver. SO... here it is, a 3.5m PL Reactor II. I am told it was made in custom colors out of a
lighter weight fabric for a PL team rider. You can see it is not the usual colors of the Reactor II series:
Aside from its custom colors, here's what I believe makes it special: Firstly it belonged to the PL Team Rider (kinda Cool), and from
there it went to PKF's beloved one and only Don Leech, the unforgettable and wonderful man tridude who we all lost just recently
(SUPER COOL). From there it went to the one and only BeamerBob, and this was the kite as he says that consistently got him over 50 mph on Ivanpah
(Very Cool). From there it went to UtahTami who traded a kite with me for this one. I may have the order mixed up and Bobby can correct me if I'm
wrong. I think this kite has a really cool and unique history. For that I hate to pass it on, but I don't use it because I'm moving a different
direction and I think someone else should own it now.
I have really only bugged with it once and loved it in 14mph wind... killer upwind ability for sure. I can tell you it flies awesome.
Extrinsic Value wise I'm hoping to get at around $225 for it, but if anyone is willing to outdo that for its sheer Intrinsic Value due to the awesome
history it has, let me know. So:
PL Reactor II, 3.5m Ready to fly $225
I believe the lines are Q-line (in good condition) but not sure and am guessing they are 20m, but again not sure... all I can say is that they work.
I can also say that it is in good condition with no tears or pinholes that I'm aware of.

I'm no more in the market than you are Spencer, but I would be remiss if I didn't compliment you on your presentation in this thread. This is exactly
right for somebody! mougl - 4-9-2015 at 03:25 PM
Excellent presentation Spencer!! If I weren't going a different direction with my quiver, I would jump on this. This is going to be a steal of a deal
for someone!soliver - 4-9-2015 at 05:55 PM
Oh yeah, ... I'll split the shipping in the lower 48
Thanks guys... appreciate the kind words.soliver - 5-9-2015 at 07:21 PM

That's a killer deal! Someone is going to be lucky rtz - 5-9-2015 at 10:21 PM
If anyone buggies and doesn't have a Reactor yet; that is a great price to get into one. Look how much a Reactor costs these days and you'll
see.
Study the wind range for the Reactors and if that size works for your winds; absolutely pick it up. I would get it personally if I didn't already
have that size. The price alone makes it tempting still. Plus the history of the kite and the custom color. Surprised it hasn't been picked up
already.soliver - 6-9-2015 at 08:41 AM
Thanks rtz.... You're making me think I should be asking more for it. :D
For those who are curious I do believe the major difference it the RII, and the Reactor 2013 from what I understand (no personal experience) is that
the newer models are more brake friendly than the RII. Ritz is right, they are awesome kites regardless of which model you get. I loved them but am
moving to a single skin loaded quiver.
This kite is a collectors kite too IMHO because of its uniqueness and who has owned it.Dayhiker - 7-9-2015 at 05:05 PM

Go DayHiker Go!!!! Dayhiker - 7-9-2015 at 10:37 PM
Thanks Spencer & Steve. This will be my first dedicated buggy kite unless you count my big Revs. Have several other foils but the Reactor II
looks like it is right for higher winds & ground speeds. Three years ago a very small two line foil first introduced me to that type of kite
closely followed by a four line small foil which was my first quad kite. I like to fly on handles. There are so many cool kites to fly. I feel this
one will become a favorite in that class of kites.
Also, I used to ski at Park City when I was younger & living in northern Utah back in the day. It has changed a bit since the sixties no doubt.soliver - 8-9-2015 at 04:09 AM
You're really gonna love this kite Dayhiker.
I got you're email and we'll keep in touch as things continue to unfold.abkayak - 8-9-2015 at 06:15 AM
good for you great kite..but imo dont think of this as a high wind

I guess my sport kite leanings are showing. High wind to me is fifteen plus I suppose. Typically have been flying dualies in zero to 14 mph winds.
Have many SUL sport kites for conditions here in my neighborhood. One of my favorite kites can only handle winds to five mph. Have a broad selection
of standard & vented dual line sport kites also. I have spent about half my air time in the last couple years flying Revolution Sport Wings.
Wind ranges for my selection of Revs go from 2 mph to 30 plus. But I usually don't have winds that high unless you count the gusts. Have flown in 25
or more but it would be with full vent dualies & vented Revs. I will eventually buy more foils & have six now. Looking forward to having
enough experience & skill to put up a powerful kite safely in higher winds. I will be reading this forum for guidance in the next direction I
head. I really appreciate the kindness and comments.

I'm psyched for you dayhiker. Let us know how it goes when you get it. Dayhiker - 8-9-2015 at 06:42 PM
abkayak, just noticed your mood, "off to see the lizard". There is an ancient Land Lizard lurking in my basement kite shop. It is likely the Lizard
will be introduced to the new Reactor on some grassy field this fall. May be setting down the sport kites for awhile to up my efforts to finally get
mobile. SHBKFsoliver - 8-9-2015 at 08:05 PM
Soliver you better have that sucker dialed in for the man:D
I haven't made any adjustments to it since I got it... it flew keenly right out of the box from Utahtami for me. Not sure if she had it dialed in or
if it was BeamerBob, but it is set up very well. I mostly only flew it static because my average wind doesn't go much over 12mph. The one time I rode
with it in the buggy was blowing in the 12-14 range and it was really awesome in that. I know it will be killer in 15 plus, but start out slower with
it I would say, just to learn its tendencies. I have ALWAYS been super impressed with the upwind ability and the stability of the Reactors.abkayak - 9-9-2015 at 05:32 AM

Got no need for a jointer but very happy for you Spencer! The goal is in sight.soliver - 14-9-2015 at 06:01 PM
It'd be too hard to ship any way BeamerBob - 15-9-2015 at 06:18 AM
All the details are correct except I bought the kite from Ricardo. That RII was his storm kite for the set he took to the world Championships in
Europe. The kite is made of the same fabric as the Vapor IIRC. I'm not sure he ever flew it when I bought it. It was a confidence inspiring kite for
me and took me to the next level of lakebed riding. I never had to tune it since it always performed as expected. When tridude did a tour in the buggy
due to his tracheotomy, he bought the kite and lines from me. He noticed some stretch in the Climax lines and made an adjustment. UtahTami bought the
kite from Tridude. Should still be a great kite for you!soliver - 15-9-2015 at 03:59 PM
Thanks Bobby, was't sure whether you or Don had it first... Its already off to a new good home... I thought I had heard somewhere that Ricardo was a
PL team rider, ...was he not? Even if not, knowing it was on the racing circuit is cool.
Can't help but feel like I lost a kite I really wanted to keep, but really not sure I was ever going to use it again.
Good luck Dayhiker!ssayre - 15-9-2015 at 04:29 PM
keep all kites or just the ones you use is the difference between a kite collector and a kite user. Some people are both I suppose, but I'm a kite
user. If I'm not using it semi-frequently, it's going.Dayhiker - 15-9-2015 at 04:55 PM
I am in the collector/user category in several arenas besides kites. I have stopped logging kites into a spreadsheet or continuing to even count
them. I have kept all of them that have come my way although I did actually give one to someone as a gift. I admit it has gotten a bit out of hand.
A few years ago I was ghosting a kite forum & noticed a couple saying they had forty-five kites. I thought, wow! that's a bunch. Passed that
number some time ago. I do try to fly each one from time to time. On one trip to the beach I flew thirty different kites over a period of nine days.
But some of those were stacks. While I am not an expert in any category I am slowly approaching my goal of being able to fly most kites. My wife
actually buys kites for me as gifts as she knows it makes me happy. What a lady. My name is Ralph & I love my kites. SHBKF

Ditto kiddo!... 6 seems to be all I can keep at a time... I don't see the 2 foils I have left ever leaving me.abkayak - 15-9-2015 at 05:49 PM
Ralph.....you are a good man.Dayhiker - 16-9-2015 at 01:14 PM
Kite received this afternoon in superb condition. It's like Spencer just handed it to me. Thank you Mr. Oliver. Has to be most perfectly packed foil
I have received. Also very nice to receive a kite truly ready to fly. It is set up with handles exactly the way I would prefer to fly it. Will take
it with me as I travel & see if I can find a spot with a breeze to become friends with this new one. I'll try to post my reaction to the Reactor
II as I get some airtime. But remember, I'm just a solo hill billie kite flailer.....SHBKFsoliver - 16-9-2015 at 04:38 PM
