What kind of knot do you run on the end of the leader lines on the handles? Seems like the factory knot is always just a loose overhand knot?

Yes it is "just" an overhand knot, or you could use a double stopper knot which is a overhand with two overs, but it takes up more line.

RTZ - I would say "it depends". If I just need a knot that I don't intend to move again then a simple overhand knot seems to do just fine. If I need
to move the knot again (or frequently), and assuming I have enough line to do this, I will most certainly add a double or even a triple twist to the
knot before doubling the line back, just as bigE noted above. The reason for this is that the knots with additional twists are far easier to undue
later. The simple overhand knot tends to get like a hard little pebble after a while.

simple overhand has never given me any cause for concern.

Figure eight. Does less to weaken the line and is able to be untied much easier.
