Moving to Massachusetts! Anyone around there?

domdino - 2-11-2015 at 09:23 AM

Just wondered what everyones favorite locations are? I'm very keen to get into snow kiting and back into landboarding, and of course doing plenty of kitesurfing too :)

Would be great to meet some locals!

Let us know where you wind up. Nahant is the place for landboarding but many others options exist for water and snow.

Winters here can have great ice and snow options on various lakes. Too bad you weren't here for last winter.

Nahant will be a premier place for MTB, buggy...and on water...... year round.

Sorry guys, I'm completely neglecting this website nowadays!

I moved to Boston - Fenway to be specific. Will be here for a year or so before moving out to a suburb somewhere! Thought I should get some city life in first. Does anyone fly in the winter?

skimtwashington - 15-1-2016 at 06:36 PM

Yes....a bunch of us fly in Winter......on frozen lakes, or at beach if no rideable lake ice/snow.

The Ice was two inches thick but it's warming with rain coming tonight. Not good. Winter still on hold and waiting for first kite skating or skiing:(

However....there is ice now up north that's rideable..unless the rain works too far north and it takes a big hit(melt) from rain.

Conditions up here are highly variable at the moment but coming around. That last rain helped us on the ice end of things but took a toll on the land based riding we've had here in MWV area. Hopefully we won't get rain here and we get some heavy wet snow to patch up what got thrashed by the 2" downpour last Sunday.

We have several lakes in play North of us and a few coming in closer to North Conway. One of our customers rode 50 miles on Squam last Thursday. Though after doing an inspection yesterday I wouldn't go out there just yet.

See our latest report below.
