GT's at Sandy Point

John Holgate - 24-11-2015 at 04:28 AM

Three brand new GT Rapide ++ and one GT Radical were recently unboxed in Aus. Three made their way to Sandy Point last weekend for their maiden voyages. Some very happy owners indeed. Ignore the bash plates and the skinny mudguard that were quickly knocked up for the weekend. These are seriously good buggies with awesome support and comfort in the seat. They feel really well balanced and nimble despite being large buggies. I was most impressed. On the Sunday, Joel let me put the 17" rims on my Vmax - wow, talk about smooth and fast - I thought they were FAR superior to my beachracers.

You have a primo spot to ride John. Makes me want to jump on a plane and see for myself... we can all dream. Music is great as always.
Is the beach always deserted ? In most of your videos there are only kiters. You need some dogs, small children, and numb adults to clutter
the place up a bit, keep you on your toes. I'd be glad to send you some of ours if you'd like.

I'm glad that didn't make it into the video John.

That aside, that was some fine buggy porn in the beginning and some sweet riding in a superb spot. Provocative to see you flying a DP rig.

Thanks guys! I sort of forgot that 'knocked up' can mean something other than 'thrown together quickly' !!

Sandy Point is a bit off the track - during holidays and hot weather, the beach can have hundreds and hundreds of people on it but even so, by the time you've gone a couple of km away from the surf life saving club, there will only be the occasional small group out for a walk. During the week, when it's not school holidays, it's not uncommon to buggy the entire 14km from Waratah Bay out to the point without seeing a single person. Unlike a lot of the beaches south of me, Sandy Point is not being built up or getting commercialized the way a lot of small holiday towns are. Lucky us!! (touch wood).
