sabre problems

kitingalburghstyle - 11-2-2007 at 04:51 AM

hiya, the other day there was a moderate breeze so we got out the 9.5 flexifoil sabre. but had big problems with it...it just didnt control right it felt strongest when it was higher in the window and when i sent it through the middle of the window it hardly pulled at all...not only this but it was also impossible to launch..anyone got any ideas why it does all this stuff?

cheers
Will

Explain to me a little better how it reacts from a launch. If you pin her down with stakes, use two about a meter apart attached to brake lines. Let her fill up and see what she does. let me know.
What year is it, does it have the cross bridle system?
Personally I was looking at getting one, but I buggy and its not a kite for that.

Cheers

yeah it does have the crossbridle system....when launching it fills up but when u attempt to launch it it doesnt feel under control and moves really slowly to the top of the window...like the brake lines are too tight?? i dont have much experience with depowerables (especially cross bridle systems) so dont really now why..will do the stake experiement next time im out.!

i think you could be right about it not being a buggying kite!! its a sabre 1...9.5m.

Also, how strong was the wind, one of the locals has the same kite and he usually doesn't pull it out until the wind hits 12-15mph. If the wind's any lighter the kite becomes a bit of a bear. In lighter winds he'll get a better ride out of his b2 blade, I think it's a 7.2m or 7.8m something like that.

er i reckon it was about that 12-15mph.....wasnt howling but should have been enough to get going!

Yeah, should have been no problem, usually the local guy has trouble under 10mph.

are you sure that your lines are setup correctly?
the rear line should go to the outside of the bar and the front lines to the center.
Forgive me if your setup is correct already.

Also check that the crossover is not tangled.

ok. im pretty sure the lines and stuff are fine but will check next time..
