asking 475.00 plus shipping'

Cheddarhead - 21-12-2015 at 02:50 PM

:o:o:o:o:o:o

MotoFoo86 - 21-12-2015 at 04:16 PM

Hmmmm how does this compare in low wind to a speed? I'm very curious, always wanted a huge wing!

BeamerBob - 21-12-2015 at 04:56 PM

If this were a month in either direction I'd snap it up just for the novelty of it. That's a great price but bad timing for me.

Feyd - 21-12-2015 at 05:54 PM

Motofoo it would overlap a lot with your 14m Montana. The flight quality however is much better IMO and the double duty it can do on water makes this kite a hell of a bargain.

PHREERIDER - 21-12-2015 at 07:21 PM

wow what a deal !

djsiryn - 21-12-2015 at 08:17 PM

OMG!!! I wish the holidays had not left me with a big hole in my pocket. LOL

bigkid - 23-12-2015 at 12:31 PM

It's been too wet here so getting some pictures is out of the question. Weather should dry out about April, pictures before that will more than likely be from the new owner. Your welcome to buy the kite and post as many pics as possible.

Who couldn't trust a sweet mug like that! ;)

Seriously, Jeff is one of the most trusted sellers on this forum and this is one sweet deal for the right pilot!

bigkid - 23-12-2015 at 06:07 PM

Ok Ken.
How's this?

If you can't trust me than you can't trust anyone...

(Photo deleted due to little kids screaming uncontrollably.)

mainekite2 - 23-12-2015 at 07:25 PM

Would love to have this but can't swing it at the moment. Jeff the picture says it all

bigkid - 23-12-2015 at 09:40 PM

bigkid - 24-12-2015 at 05:32 AM

Yes I have a mouth, I have lips too. :D

bigkid - 13-2-2016 at 08:43 AM

This kite is still available, if not sold in the next few days its off to Ebay.

g00fba11 - 15-2-2016 at 07:07 PM

Wow. The kite that was not for sale in 2012 at NABX. Tried to pluck it back then but the answer was I will never sell this rare bird. Hmmm. The goofy one may have to step up to the plate on this. Wheels turning. Somethings burning.

hiaguy - 25-10-2016 at 11:09 AM

You stand it on its tips and throw a party under it when it rains :wee:

bigkid - 25-10-2016 at 11:41 AM

A bit more than 0, 8 and up depending on the size of your manhood.

OffAxis - 25-10-2016 at 11:47 AM

hiaguy, I'm still waiting on your official review on that Pansh A15 after WBB.

OffAxis - 25-10-2016 at 11:53 AM

bigkid - 29-10-2016 at 02:02 PM

I have decided to keep the kite. Too much drama for the old man. Sorry everyone for getting your hopes up but it's going to collect a bit more dust.

lp000028 - 29-10-2016 at 04:44 PM

Let me tell you what really happened I was going to purchase the kite he wanted a payment gifted through PayPal which is not covered by any protection I told him there was no way I was going to do that send a regular PayPal invoice it has protection. Then he contacted me Saturday and sent Money request through PayPal which is not covered by any payment protection . Before he even tries ,it I gave him an extra 50 bucks on top of what he asked for to cover any fees through PayPal .

abkayak - 29-10-2016 at 05:53 PM

Yea well...I understand your apprehension..but u don't understand that those of us who know him would just do what he asked...nice kite...very big too

lp000028 - 29-10-2016 at 09:28 PM

your joking right abkayak your not that slow. you realized what he was trying to do.

lp000028 - 29-10-2016 at 09:39 PM

this is a video link explaining IN DETAIL WHY YOU YOU DO NOT GIFT OR ACCEPT MONEY REQUEST THRU PAYPAL.
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OURl5y00-LY&list=TLqgs5L...

abkayak - 29-10-2016 at 09:58 PM

Nope...no joke not gonna watch the video either

Damn that kites big:o

lp000028 - 30-10-2016 at 07:46 AM

the conclusion even if jeffery ripped somebody off we would still stand by him . unbelievable

MotoFoo86 - 30-10-2016 at 09:21 AM

No, that's not at all what anyone is getting at. You are assuming that just because the way Jeff choose to transact has ways that one can scam another that must be his intent. I agree that there are pitfalls to the way he wished to do the transaction. However he has done many transaction probably the same way and i have never heard of anyone not getting what they had purchased. It seems to me this is a case where you two failed to reach a deal. Time to just walk away and start searching for your next kite. :)

Bladerunner - 30-10-2016 at 09:43 AM

At about 1:15 in your instructional video they mention " if you have not dealt with this person before "

This is where you are right and yet wrong. IF you were a member of this forum you would know that our kite sales are peer to peer. I much different environment than CL or Ebay etc.. We go out of our way to create feedback and expose those who are NOT trusted sellers. Jeff has a long history of trading. Literally thousands of transactions. He has sat on this kite for a very long time and doesn't care if he sells it or not. Most of all he wants it in the right owners hands. You pissssed him off. ( it's not hard to do ! ) He chose to hold on and sell it to somebody HE feels good about. It is an unusual environment but it is actually set up so buyers and sellers can trust in the Family to be sure they are getting the right kite for their needs at a good price.

You are crying " Rip Off " . How exactly have you been ripped off? Did he take your money + $50 or shut you out?

Being super cautious with payment IS right generally.

adambweird - 30-10-2016 at 10:17 AM

I have yet to buy anything from Jeff (hoping to get a harness from him) but since this nonsense has started up, i havent heard back from him... i know hes on the good trader list and is spoken highly of (i do research first before buying) and though i havent been a member on here for very long, i would buy with confidence from him. Due your research before spouting off against a respected member of this forum.

lp000028 - 30-10-2016 at 03:59 PM

adambweird. business is business why would you put your self at unnecessary risk. is everybody this slow.

MotoFoo86 - 30-10-2016 at 04:08 PM

LP, I think after this it's doubtful youll have to worry about doing much business here. I think most of us are aware of the possible pitfalls but choose to trust in the community. If having some faith makes me slow then so be it.

hiaguy - 30-10-2016 at 04:20 PM

I'm just starting to enjoy this guys humour. Or maybe I'm just slow

Listen dude, you have absolutely no cred' here. Look at the histories of the others that are posting... hundreds / thousands of posts on this forum, often involvement on other forums, driving hundreds of miles to enjoy each others company at both Atlantic and Pacific beaches.

At no point have you provided any indication that you have ever owned or flown a kite, yet you were trying to purchase one of the largest kites available, and when you couldn't you tried to turn your poor experience into insults about someone we consider a friend. Jeff has contributed greatly to this sport, and has certainly learned, and earned, experience and trust over the course of years.

These things aren't toys, and Jeff likely made a judgement call that you weren't safe under that much sail - or he simply didn't like your attitude. Either way, as others have said: his sale, his call.

I could be completely wrong, but absent any information to the contrary I'm feeling fairly satisfied that Jeff's not the one to blame here. Go spend a few hours mastering a 3m kite, then venture into something a little larger. And if you've been in the sport for a while, but have simply never felt it necessary to introduce yourself here, how about starting with "Hi" instead of slamming someone.

And feel welcome to join us at any of the great get togethers discussed here.

(PS: Hey Jeff, you enjoying this?)

adambweird - 30-10-2016 at 05:04 PM

"adambweird. business is business why would you put your self at unnecessary risk. is everybody this slow."

Because i believe in the inherant good of humanity. Ive found that people who have joined together on this or other forums have a passion for said forums topic ie kites, motocycles, etc... and arent out to scam people. They like to share their knowledge, experience, swap/sell items in hopes that they are helping others to have good experiences, create fond memories of great get togethers, open up avenues for personal growth, etc. Not saying a scam never happens, but a lil research on the person you hope to trade with goes a long way towards knowing who can be trusted.

BeamerBob - 30-10-2016 at 07:27 PM

I've been on here for almost 10 years and I've bought and sold countless items from a long list of fellow kiters. I've never had a bad transaction. Even when stuff was missing from the box we worked it out.

Jeff and I have what could be considered a contentious relationship or maybe more like no relationship at all, but I've bought from him and when an issue came up, it was resolved to my satisfaction and I hope his too. All that said, there is no way he tried to cheat you. He just wouldn't do that. He is probably worried about your intentions and trustworthiness offering above asking price. He's been burned before by people he trusted but didn't know so he's wary.

lp000028 - 30-10-2016 at 09:55 PM

BeamerBob thats why you do a paypal invoice it protects the seller and buyer .

Too bad PKF doesn't have a "LIKE" button.

Hey, who of you (if he has your number) has gotten an "are you doing OK" PHONE call from Jeff if you get hurt?... I'm raising my hand.

I have no dog in this fight really, but it seems important for you to take a moment to think about the following: The fact of the matter still remains that you, having virtually NO history here and expressing NO knowledge thus far of this sport, were trying to buy literally THE LARGEST (and therefore potentially very dangerous) kite available. Perhaps not only was Jeff concerned about his liability, but perhaps for YOUR OWN safety? Have you considered that?

and finally:
I heard someone say recently, "Have you ever seen someone actually WIN an argument by posting a rant on FaceBook (or any other online community)?"... well no, but it sure can be entertaining.

Have a cup of Joe and think about that for a bit.

You missed my point that we had an issue and worked out as peers. Not using a third party to settle differences. If you hang around here long enough, you might eventually grasp the community and culture. Everyone is welcome that doesn't come in slinging mud. Mud slingers get called out quickly.

It's probably not the best thing to come in buying or selling something as your first interaction with the forum.

lp000028 - 31-10-2016 at 03:37 PM

i'm sorry for calling big kid a big scammer but that's not good business practice . what your asking is insane to trust a individual on the internet under those conditions . the theme is just trust us dont think about if something goes wrong just trust us.
i tried to be rational with y'all, it's impossible . this is a video link explaining my view on your comments. i'm finished

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LQCU36pkH7c

hiaguy - 31-10-2016 at 04:06 PM

YES YES YES... Now you get it!
This isn't a typical forum of people trying to get whatever they can for themselves. It's not about business. (Heck, Jeff advertised a kite as KO; I bought it and when it arrived it was completely RTF including the backpack.) It's a community of kiters that KNOW and TRUST each other. If Jeff asked to borrow one of my kites, I'd send it. Period. And I'd pay for shipping. Why? Trust and friendship.
Hang around for a while and you'll see what I (we) mean.

Nice to see your apology. Thank you.

PS: Love the video.

abkayak - 31-10-2016 at 04:54 PM

He's a truether...and that's no apology
Yes...go away and leave us to our selfs

ssayre - 31-10-2016 at 05:08 PM

I'm not sure what's with the videos. I didn't watch them. I'm passing out candy by a front yard fire. Sorry you missed the genuine comradery here. It's real.

alasdair macleod - 3-11-2016 at 01:20 PM

That was fun too read:D
I live Halfway round the world from bigkid and I'd be happy to buy a kite from him. I live on wee island of westcoast of Scotland in the Outer Hebrides.
You don't get it with this kind of forum I've had great help with stupid question & brilliant advice on here.

aronma - 3-11-2016 at 04:32 PM

I'm late to this thread but thought I would contribute.... I traded for a sail from Jeff at WWBB that needed a replacement batten. As soon as he arrived back to WA he sent me an email with pictures and measurements to make sure he had the right one. Yesterday it was waiting for me at home on my porch. Thank you Jeff :) And 24m it crazy big!

Blitzhound - 4-11-2016 at 07:10 PM

Good call on not trusting Jeff. Never trust a man with that much mustache. I recently bought a PKD Century II 6m from Jeff. He sad it was used but when I got it...If it was used. I couldn't tell. I mean...how dare he sell me a used kite then send me a new one! He must have thought I was to SLOW to notice. I feel so cheated. Besides lp000028 you don't want that kite. You don't have the testicular fortitude to handle that kite!
