SELLERS BEWARE

Cheeks - 30-1-2016 at 03:42 AM

Some people on this forum believe that they can be part of your sale.

They believe that they can set the price of the property you own.

They believe that they can make derogatory statements with hearsay and with no first hand experience.

Many members also believe that they can snipe your listing by posting an item similar to or an exact match below your offering for a lower price.

Be prepared for comments like "sucks, "widow maker", P.O.S. and other rude and crude remarks. they'll use to kill your sale.

If you wish to have a personal one to one, seller to buyer relationship, this is not the place to list your equipment for sale. Seek a more commercial site like e-bay, Craig's List or similar sites.

You have been warned!

B-Roc - 30-1-2016 at 06:47 AM

If you don't like the way things are done here, go start your own forum.

Cheeks - 30-1-2016 at 08:36 AM

If you don't like what I say then you can leave and start Your own forum!

It's been established that I can say whatever I want BECAUSE THIS IS A FOURM and I am an American!

cheezycheese - 30-1-2016 at 08:39 AM

Guys, please stop...

ssayre - 30-1-2016 at 08:42 AM

cheezy, I don't know if you've noticed, but you've been renamed crazycheese :)

This is the For Sale section not the Discussion section. I have asked the moderators to decide.

Windstruck - 30-1-2016 at 09:27 AM

As much as I hate the expression, "Can't we all just get along?" seems particularly apropo right about now.

In one small way I started this, originally commenting negatively about a person poaching on a For Sale thread of a near-new kite (2m Hornet used I think four times for $200) with a reply directly below offering a new-in-plastic identical kite for the same price. I just thought that was really weak form (and still do).

If you want to sell something then Man-Up and create your own thread. Woman are free to do this too of course! I for one am darn glad Utahtami did just that because I got a GREAT 15m Ozone Summit from her earlier this month. :D

We are all big boys and girls here. I'm sure pretty much everybody on PKF reads and internalizes what they read with a grain of salt. Forums such as this are unfiltered, and with such raw content comes a bit of riff with the raff. For example, I've come to completely discount negative swipes at Peak kites because my personal experience on both land and snow with the entire quiver of Peak-2s tells me something very different in my hands.

Let's please all put the smiles back on our faces and move on, OK? This is a HOBBY for Pete's sake.

Cheeks - 30-1-2016 at 09:34 AM

We all accept that safety is paramount with in our sport, in the air, on the ground, and even in the for sale area here on PKF.

That being said, maybe we need to institute a "SKILL-O-METER".

A rating system starting at 0 (zero) for newbeez and peaking at ten (10) for pro/team rider/dealers.
This can be a self imposed assessment of ones level of one's perceived skills, talent and ability with a power kite.

By placing your presumed skill number by your username, others can question your writings and statements of your posts here for credibility and believability.

The only way that your "SKILL-O-METER" number could change is if you are observed operating a power kite in an un-safe and or dangerous manor and beyond your skill level as posted.

In the rare air of "10" would be members like Beamer Bob, Big Kid, Dino, Big Mike, C. Jensen and a few others. Please don't over rate yourself or let your ego get in the way.

So.... what's your "SKILL-O-METER" number?

My SKILL-O-METER number? The number is long but distinguished, just like my....

:eekdrull:

awindofchange - 30-1-2016 at 01:42 PM

Skill-o-meter....LOL We're all pro's when it comes to online. :)

Me, I would say I am a 2, I know what a kite is so I would be above a 1.

Double Posting is kind of bad Forum manors?

This belongs in your sniping post but not here?
SKILL CAN"T BE BOUGHT OR SOLD!!!!!!

The answer to your issues seems so simple to me. If you don't like selling gear in a " Peer to Peer " Forum with a section dedicated to good kite transactions simply sell your stuff on a commerce focused site? :duh:

If you feel so strongly about this issue maybe the good sellers section would make sense? :bigok:

Cheeks - 30-1-2016 at 06:50 PM

Now this is rich.....

Wow I'm confused here. Double posting is bad manors but snipping a thread and saying someone else's property SUCKS is not bad manors????? Is there a double standard here?

I believe that Danger Dan is correct! The truth is that this area IS A DISCUSSION AREA in spite of what many of us think it should be. But some members believe that they can say whatever they want because this is a forum and they are Americans.

This has been interesting reading (in both threads). Thanks for the insights.
From my perspective: Proud to be Canadian, with the right to free speech, and the ability to determine when to use it.

I joined this forum for the positive insights and the support of a community, and I look forward to that spirit being continued.

See y'all on the beach!

I was man enough to apologise that I somehow snipped you years ago and again now.
I do it because this is an international Forum and I AM CANADIAN !

I don't know what all the fuss is about, but I just want to say thanks to PKF for the opportunities the for sale section has afforded me over the years. I wouldn't have been able to afford or explore this hobby as much as I have without it.

So Thank You PKF!!!

I don't feel any changes or rules need applied.
