Having wasted an hour or two I am no closer to solving the mystery of the disappearing posting. As I described before, preview of the text copied to a
posting box wipes it out clean most of the times. However if I copy just a part of it, it often behaves normally. I wish someone would corroborate
this before I am accused of insanity. Though it may be too late for this since I already satisfy the definition, having tried the same thing over more
than once hoping for a different outcome.
The above worked normally, whereas my previous posting (bridle replacement) did not. I could copy and preview the first 2 lines. Copying all 3 lines -
preview would delete everything (?!). Now I will try to post something again and see what happens.

Not insane. What you described happened to me in the 4-line kite for static flying (2m or 4m?) thread.
Ended up having to edit the post in Notepad and pasting to get it submitted.
During one of the iterations, also had it do a partial deletion of the post.
This is definitely a bug that crept into the forum software updates.

Thanks, makes me feel better.

Ok. I had your same issue when I posted the poll about IBX. barely got half of what I wanted in the post but felt lucky to get anything in there. I
clicked preview before posting and everything was gone. Then it wouldn't allow two pastes or it would delete it all.

Now we are getting somewhere. I haven't checked if Post would actually post it or delete it like Preview. In addition to this Preview disappearing act
I also had typed in posting disappear after I tried to correct something in Preview. Likely these problems are related. The administrator should know
something about it - I would think. Unintended consequences of fighting hackers ?.

I'll never hit preview again. If I have multiple pastes, I will stage them elsewhere and drop them all in at once.

For Windows, there is BBCEditor (I assume Mac equivalents exist). That allow you to compose/edit posts offline in a split screen window to copy/paste to PKF.
It's not perfect as PKF uses slightly different BBCode tags. When I used to post much longer & geekier PKF posts, I used to find it very handy.
Image and YouTube video previews are supported among other things.
BBCEditor window with edit pane on the left and preview pane on the right.

I have just discovered that Post Reply does not post pasted stuff but deletes it just like Preview does.
