Buggy Tote Rack

Cheeks - 6-2-2016 at 02:53 PM

Here's a trailer hitch buggy rack I built a few years ago. The buggy was a Kite Trike. Now it carries my Ivanpah. I did have to add internal structure and gussets to support the extra buggy weight. Works great. Comes apart. I can still make them up and powder coat them any color if ordered.

Well most of us had to dip a toe in the water to check the temperature. I guess we were no different.

Dollars starting out are different from dollars HOOKED!

I rode the hell out of that thing. Ride for an hour and retighten all the bolts and check for broken parts. Then do it again. It didn't make any difference how much LocTite blue or red I used, the buggy delighted in self destruction. Not a bug for big men!

Finally got sick in tired of all the crap and got bought the big buggy from Big Kid. Ivanpahs are bullet proof. Well made, super strong and even at 90lbs. the tote is worth the ride.
Like a comfy recliner. :P

Your spot on Cheeks. The kite trike was fun. It stillhangs on a hook in my shed, but it's a very different ride in the Ivanpah. Two very different vehicles. The seat in the Ivanpah is like a lounge chair. I would prefer if the side rails were a bit lower though. Or maybe I just need to add a little bit more padding to keep my ribs from getting a bit bruised from long sessions. It's still a great ride and much easier to transport on a rack.

Hotwire and your problems solved. Good thing about a hotwire is it can stay attached to the buggy and It's not in the way when you want to wear a harness instead. If wind is sketchy or it's a day you don't want to be hotwired, then wear harness. I find I use both methods depending on the day, but on most "normal" wind days it's very comfortable and convenient.
