Another winter passed by......

Good grief. Where do the days go? It seems like only yesterday I was thinking "Wow, it's 2016" and now it's almost halfway through MARCH! A whole winter slipped by and not a single kite got out to play. I can't believe it.

I've decided to take advantage of the poor Canadian dollar and sell off a good chunk of my kite kollection. I'm not abandoning things - not at all.....it's that old kite mojo feeling - the one that makes me feel like these things deserve to be FLYING not hiding in a closet here. I've also got to let one of the buggies go finally too - just need to decide which one (The XR+ or the VTT retro cruiser).

Kinda sad but will be happy to know the kites are getting used. I'll gather the details and get the posts ready this weekend. Just thought I'd give you all a heads up so you didn't think I was packing it in.

Not familiar with the specific retro cruiser that Van made, but having just received a VTT rail and seat upgrade kit from him I have to say I was extremely impressed with his workmanship. I sure would think of keeping a VTT buggy over a PL XR+. Saying this I of course don't know the actual condition of your two rides. I'm sure you'd find a buyer for your XR+; there hasn't been one for sale on the forum for a while.

Sorry we didn't get you out!

I was in Calgary for a couple of funerals. I got out twice but killed the wind both days.
Even at Lac Des Arcs! It takes special skills to kill that wind.

I too had a buggyless season. Weather just would not cooperate. I did get out twice to teach a new guy how to fly,and hooked him good. LOL

This is the VTT "Retro Cruiser". I pulled it all together piece by piece a few years back. Polished the wheels from the dull factory sheen to brilliant shine, got the adapted bearings with help form the PKF family so I could fit the beefier axle bolts in the original hubs. Sure is a nice looking rig but I always opted for the XR+ because of the Dark Sky Kites belly pan which is great advertising for my business when it's strapped to the truck.

You are so right. It has March. I have been working my butt off this winter and have some free time coming up soon. Finally.

Good need is...all that hard work Will get me 2 kayaks. I can't live of kiting alone when there are too many non windy days. So I decided to get them peddling boats and chill out on the Banana river with my family on those days.

Last dat of work today and some free time coming up. Yay to the end of winter.

She's an outright hottie! Love the rims. Same sort of general theme I went with, BigFoot+ front end and downtube, VTT midsection, BigFoot+ rear axle, and Sysmic Rims on some big ole tires. I'll take my ride out for a spin for a first time since November later this month at IBX.
