I am interested in getting into Kite Buggies. Can anyone give me advice as far as what to purchase. I have checked the website www.awindofchange.com and found alot of useful info, gear, prices and things. Does anyone know if this site is reputable. I live in New Jersey
and we have a very good size beach and I have seen kite being used there before. Its a mixture of hard and soft sand. Wind conditions are good. Any
help.

A wind of change is very reputable. Brilliant people there shop in complete confidence.
I'm a landboarder myself and never really liked buggies 
wind of change has razors on sale at the moment, they are an older kite but buggiers used to love them back in england a few years ago... VERY grunty
kites, not much lift, pure traction. If you've never flown a kite before something like a samurai might be a better choice, more user friendly....

Hey Brian, Thanks for the quick reply, I see your in Delaware so you are just around the corner so to say. As I have said I have never done this
activity before. I am a police officer in North Wildwood NJ and I guess about 7 or 8 years ago I saw people riding the buggies on our beach and
thought it was really something. Come to think about it I do recall seeing a few just last year. I would like to get into it and give it a try,
well if I am going to get into the expense I am diff going to do it. Any info or advise would be greatly apprecitated.

Also appreciate the info, and Yes I have never flown a power kite before. From what I have read I know that I have to master flying the power
kite before I make an attempt to jump onto the buggie. I am going to contact windsofchange and inquire about some items. Any info is apprecitated.

hey guys, again thanks for the info, I am going to check into all the leads. Sue, Steve, and Brian I will send you that email. Quick question for
someone who knows very little about the sport, talking about me of course, can you actually make the buggy go against the direction of the wind or
close to it? Joe.

It is very difficult to go directly against the wind but you can get pretty darn close if the conditions are right. Mostly you are only able to get
about 20 degrees into the wind (upwind tack). If you get enough speed you can turn directly upwind and coast as long as you manage your kite right so
it doesn't stop you. You will not be able to maintain your speed directly upwind and will eventually come to a complete (if not abrupt) stop.
Traveling upwind with tacS-P-A-M-L-I-N-K-s & Jibes is very easy to do and you can make up some very serious ground when done properly.
