This is very enticing. Anyone ever make a larger fixed bridle?

This thing is the size of a house! There must be a kiter out there with forearms twice the size of my thighs! Save this kite! If someone doesn't buy this I'm going to dismantle the thin race bridle, install a home brew de-power mixer, put it on a big hockey stick bar, shoe goo fabric on the intakes, put sleeved intakes on the perfectly seamed Mylar leading edge. Coat it with home brew fabric guard. And finally crepe paper tails.

Or experimental single skin!

He isn't joking !

JY loves to tinker and has done everything mentioned to other kites.
If you think that sounds wack, odds are he will fly it on handles AFTER he has converted it to depower!

Somebody save this kite! All it really needs is the crepe paper tails to tame it a bit! ;)

Can to demo here at our local park. From what I've been told, it's slightly tamer than the original Yak, so it's not so "luffy" at the edge of the window, and power delivery is smoother as opposed to "instant on" bite. Can substitute 50m lines. Kite weight is 3.0 kg

Hi Bob, As far as I know the Yakuza GT 17m is the biggest fixed bridle kite ever sold by Ozone. I can't imagine there are many around the planet. This one has not seen sand or beach and hence is in fab condition. It may have seen snow by its previous owner. I wish I could give a review of this kite, but just haven't had it out during the right conditions. Snow kiting in marginal 7knots in heavy powder, I've tried buggeyed's Yak 14 in comparison to my Speed 17 on handles. The smaller 14m Yak pulled just as hard, but with more of that force going towards forward motion, whereas I was putting a lot of energy fighting the downwind pull from the Speed 17. I can only imagine the Yak17gt an incredible light wind engine to rival Big Blue!! With a lot less fabric and weight without the complexity of deflating volumes and volumes of air. What does your YakGT 14m fly like?

Mine will drag you across the sand launching in wind you can barely feel on your neck. It launches well and behaves well enough to get in the buggy and get rolling. Time your swoop up high and roll away with a dive. It's very steady and requires very little input once you feed it some apparent wind. I rode past flags that were laying against their poles and I was still going 18-20 mph. Maybe there was some extra just a little higher it was finding. The Vapors might have some performance characteristic as an advantage but for just cruising on the beach when you shouldn't be able to is good enough for me. Mine is custom colors the same as yours but all grey with orange design. No white anywhere. Your kite would be a nice companion but with my 14 and Big Blue, I really don't need a third high wind kite. Need. What am I talking about?

I imagine the 17 has enough sail to fly in anything you could launch it in.

Bob, your description sounds like so much fun!

Wait! You mean I've been doing it wrong all this time?

BeamerBob - 21-4-2016 at 09:52 AM

If this price keeps dropping, I don't know how low I can let it go.

jy1zoom - 21-4-2016 at 12:24 PM

Haha Bob, would you prefer 30m lines or 50m lines?
Cheers
