My first attempt back at kitesufing after more than 10 years off. I tried this I think way back around 2003 when it was just starting to become popular and everyone was on c kites but never really got it and took up landboarding instead. It was a scary time back then ,lol . I think out of all the kitesports its the most difficult to learn but this year I made up my mind to ty it again.

Man that looked like some good conditions. My lessons in Costa had me out in 3+ waves. That smooth water looks like glass in comparison. You and I are in the same boat. I want to learn water so bad. All I've managed to accomplish on water is skipping across the surface like a well thrown stone and then hitting the water with about the same grace. :D Good luck you'll get it.

Yea buddy i knw how u feel it takes a while to get it this is my second time around but the first was so frustrating . I just gave it up in favor of landboarding. I remember being dragged with my head half underwater with the kite looping behind me and thats when i though u knw wht this sh@t is serious this kite could take me out. Lol. And doing lots of superman's too head first into the water lol. I guess its part of the learning process. fortunately new York is surrounded by alot of water so we have alot of beaches to practise. Goodluck to u too.

you need deeper water!
looked like you hit bottom with your board.
plus deeper water is safer. waist deep is perfect.

yea ure right I did stop because I was coming too close to the rocks. and the water was a little shallow for my liking however I had another opportunity to go out in waist high water and no obstacles close by and had a few good runs . :D and thankfully it looks like its a fast learning curve once u can get up on the board . :D
