In search of Charger 1 knowledge: stalling/tip clap

ikemiester - 5-5-2016 at 09:40 PM

So, I have been flying my 2 new (to me) charger 1s a bit. Great kites. Lots of pop, good amount of float, upwind, and a nice wind range to boot.

HOWEVER, my 15 (never been close to happening on the 12) on a rare occasion will tip clap while jumping... sending me plummeting to the ground:mad:. I've done some reading and most the past tip claps seemed to be happening on launch or when the kite isn't fully inflated. My problem occurs many minutes into the session where there is no way the kite is underinflated. It seems to happen when I am using less depower, am sheeted in, and send the kite into the meat of the power zone. It looks like half stall half tip clap. Can someone help so I can stop falling from 6+ feet up in the air?:Ange09: THat would be fantastic. :spin:

Anyone done these mods and able to speak to them? Seems like they are well liked. Anyone have the pdf tungsten talks about?

Go through the Arcusers forum.

Had to do the strap shortening on a few Chargers over the years. Works fine. I don't deal with sand so never had a sticky pulley.

You "might" be able to get a hold of Tungsten through lose the straps forum. Maybe send him a private message.
