This kite is 9 meters in size and is made by HQ power kites . I never got around to using it really. I think I have flown it once on a baseball diamond, but it has been collecting dust. It comes with all the stuff. Kite, strings, and steering bar and bag. Please let me know if you are interested.

Anyone like to chime in on the matrixx vs. the Neo? I.E. Better performance? More lift? Higher aspect? Upwind? I like my Neo but I been eyeballing the matrixx for awhile now...

matrixx out classes neo by considerable performance , just more of everything, the matrixx is a progression in design from the neo. the guy who designed the matrixx i think was at FS , so theres considerable FS qualities in matrixx.

great deal here

Two years ago at JIBE I saw Chris from HQ USA flying his 14m Matrixx out on the water and he was dropping bombs. Huge airs, hauling ass, and generally tearing the Atlantic a new one. Great looking kites and I only hear good things about them.

Is the Matrixx in a class way above the Apex3?

U2U sent.

OffAxis: in short, yes. They really are two very different kites.

Not only is the Matrixx a closed cell so it can be used on water, but it is faster, higher aspect ratio with a lot more lift. The 9m is pretty sporty.

Great deal...

Tom Bordeau designed the Neo, Matrixx and and most HQ kites since then. My understanding is that Tom was originally a designer for Ozone - responsible for the Manta series kites. At the time, Ozone wasn't real keen on the idea of closed cell foils, so Tom pitched the Neo design to HQ who ran with it. At least that was a rumor I heard; could be wrong. Interesting to see how small the kite design community is though.

Tom also designs mini-paragliders for Little Cloud - they have a very solid reputation within that community.
