Take a gander if you wish.

Very nice! Nothing like coming home to the Oregon coast after having been gone for awhile.

nice video . it keep me motivated .

what were the wind speed and critical part for those board grab?

I'am looking for my 1st board grab .

I thought my jump just nicely dial-in but just can't pull the trigger to let go off 1 of my hand off the bar to grab the board .

ikemiester - 16-5-2016 at 11:12 AM

Wind speed was below 10 to just over 20 with the 19. Are you talking about just a grab, or a board off, or a 1 footer? Doing something new is all about thinking through the process of what needs to happen and then nutting up and doing it. For any type of grab make sure the bar is in the normal place you redirect it when using both hands.

got it ! ....
I could think of just a grab ..

I keep worry it need marginal height to get enough time for landing.

ikemiester - 16-5-2016 at 01:44 PM

It's not just a grab though. What part of the board are you going for, what will that look like, what will your other hand be doing, will you be landing normally, or will the grab that you're doing make you want to land switch. Especially in the early days, I would visualize things many times before attempting them. Heck, I learned to do back rolls without a board to get that distraction out of the way.

Also, you can't worry about crashing too much. If you landboard with any type of a jumping aspect, you will fall. It's not a question of if, but rather of when. The sooner that you accept that, the quicker progression happens. Worrying about falling will cause you to fall more. The ability to relax when your jump is going to $^&* is an acquired skill that will not only help you fall more gracefully (that sounds funny, but it's definitely a thing), but more often you think helps you pull one out of the gutter and land in control.

Nice stuff! I always respect (and get a kick out of) you guys that include your bloopers!

ikemiester - 16-5-2016 at 01:54 PM

Yeah, that was the old charger handclap, so the worst one this time wasn't exactly my fault, but there were definitely many more.

America's pretty crappy at kiteboarding if that's the case, but thanks for the compliment! I'm at Sunset Beach every once in a while when I'm on leave. But that is sporadic at best. That's what happens when you sign your life away to the USAF.

Nice one  Editing and composing is spot on! What harness do you use, if you don't mind me asking?

ikemiester - 16-5-2016 at 10:31 PM

Ion apex select. By I learned 95% of those moves with an old dakine waist harness.
