Is that Plumb beach Kelly..?

abkayak - 17-6-2016 at 05:25 AM

cool so you are a kite surfer now:thumbup:...it is plumb, is that on a real south or is the wind coming east?
i didnt think that beach got hard enough for a bug let alone a landboard

gemini6kl - 17-6-2016 at 07:42 AM

It feels good to be called a kitesurfer. . And yes that is plumb beach on a windy north wind day ,surprisingly the sand is just hard enough to ride on the landboard when the tide is far out . And on a south wind day its perfect for kitesurfing. Come on dwn guys lets get a land session in before summer is out.

Very nice! Seeing you kiteboard nice and mellow like that gets my crank turning. Just what I need, a whole quiver of LEIs.... :o

Pretty wild seeing you boarding in all that shallow standing water in the beginning. I recognized the Ozone green kite in the beginning. Thought it was an Access but wasn't sure. What model and size? My 9m Frenzy is that green color. Sweet.

Yea thnks , kitesurfing is a whole different animal and the most extreme of all the kitesports i think . u can go really fast without much effort as their is little resistance to the water but i try to keep a slow speed regardless. Unfortunatley its just as addictive and u will need a whole new set of gear ,time and so on. lol . The green kite is an 2015 8m ozone acces . Its a great kite very smooth but looks small for its size and its my goto kite for gusty winds.

8m Access V6 with Re-Ride, nicely played! I suspect that is a real honey of a kite. My 6m is a real confidence booster on days when the winds are really brisk. I just picked up a 4m Access V6 for days when even the 6m is too much. The day will surely come when I gulp hard and launch that little fella into a tempest.

I suspect the 8m is a great kite and still plenty lively enough to fly well in brisk wind. I read on another thread here on PKF that the 10+ m Access can get a little dead-in-bed. Makes sense as it is sort of detuned for predictability in high winds. For larger sizes (9+) I therefore went with the Frenzy for the mid-size and the Summit for the truly big, lower wind options. The Re-rides are da bomb!

Thats what I was thinking it was an Ozone Acccess I so want to get one of those at some point. Looks pretty cool flying around with it.
So what was the wind speeds when you did it and size?

gemini6kl - 17-6-2016 at 12:37 PM

It was a very windy and gusty day like 22 gusting to 30mph
Its the 2015 8m access.

Lookin' good Kelly!

Some of us inland kiters are chuckling at your "...very windy and gusty day like 22 gusting to 30mph" comment.

gemini6kl - 17-6-2016 at 02:38 PM
