hiaguy - 5-7-2016 at 05:55 AM

The issue stopping your post is likely a "non-standard" (ascii symbol?) character, such as the euro symbol.
Try different punctuation and your post should work.

BTW: Nice buggy and quiver. Good luck with your sale.

hiaguy - 5-7-2016 at 06:02 AM

Edit:My apologies BernardW.
Please check the link in your earlier post; it may be leading to the wrong listing.
Either way, removing the umlaut allowed the post to upload.

BernardW - 5-7-2016 at 06:05 AM

This is not the right markplaats post.. please remove ;-)

Why do I want to accept cookies and why do I think this is a scam?

BernardW - 5-7-2016 at 08:25 AM

Hi Bigkid, how come you think so. I've been Kite buggier since 2003 and now it's time to change. So have I been rude to you, or what.
I've invested a lot in my hobbe to have and share a lot of fun. Due to personal circumstances I have to say goodbye to my beloved sport.
So thank you for pointing out, but remember, it's your suspicious mind. Not mine. And I'm sorry you have probably had bad experiences in the past.

BernardW - 5-7-2016 at 08:29 AM

For Bigkid, have a look at our Dutch Buggy Club, you can find me in the licence list under the number H225

OffAxis - 5-7-2016 at 10:27 AM

Shipping to the USA is probably going to be a killer.

bigkid - 5-7-2016 at 10:33 AM

Your link was for me a red flag, I don't want cookies or pie.
The fact you are new here with zero list befor today and the fact you can't post with a responce to hiaguy says a lot.
Sorry you are selling your stuff, might be better to sell to your Dutch friends. Just saying...

BeamerBob - 5-7-2016 at 12:01 PM

I've bought several kites and buggy parts from Europe. Shipping can be higher but doable for gear you want that is a bargain or hard to find. The seller seems legit to me and I'd rather not discourage people from selling here just because they are from a different country.

The cookies requirement is an issue with the site the seller posted his pics on, not a reflection on the seller himself. Cookies can be deleted after you close the web page. I think we can put the foil hats back in the drawer for the moment.

What BeamerBob said....ditto

...Though the cookie warning had me abandon site...

You'll have to figure how to post all the info on here.

I'm curious....lets see what's offered.

sand flea - 5-7-2016 at 04:28 PM

shipping on the 7.8 Vapor to Portland Oregon is under 50 bucks

i would buy it

but it is already sold

volock - 5-7-2016 at 08:52 PM

OP I wish you the best luck selling your kit. I have plans to one day go to the Netherlands, as it looks like an awesome place to visit. If I might ask, trading up or getting out of the sport for some reason?

All European sites have to post with a button/prominently if they use cookies in any way shape or form. See European Cookie Law Explanation for the details. Basically most sites use short term cookies for saving info (or tracking) and don't ever mention it, but if the site is in the EU they have to. Google Analytics, a gold standard in website user info/traffic patterns, uses cookies, and most large sites use that service.

Some examples (Use Incognito/Private Browsing mode, just to make sure they aren't reading your US cookies and skipping it) would be:
https://www.google.co.uk
http://www.indeed.co.uk/(A Job Site, with a US counterpart at .com)
http://www.autotrader.co.uk/ (Used Auto site/magazine, .com counterpart)
http://www.tesco.com/ (A UK Based Supermarket Chain)

Basically we don't have to disclose it in the US. Not all EU sites will show this to you if they either host outside the EU or check IP and only show it for requests originating in Europe.

Been doing business in Europe and UK for years without any issues. this was the second time the cookie issue came up. I dont allow cookies on my laptop or phone, so I dont visit some sights. As for the tin hat bullsht, wait untill your life becomes the property of a thief before your eyes. Im still dealing with it 10 years later. The idiot is long behind bars but the money will never be returned as well as the credit rating.
A red flag is nothing more than a warning, buyer beware.
I hope the guy sells his stuff, just the wrong way to enter a forum and sell his stuff. No body in Europe want the stuff?

I know of a gal here in the US that had thousands of dollars worth of custom Rev kites that were stolen, wasn't until a friend while in France found a bunch of Revs for sale with a US seller posting in France. Part of the inventory was his friends collection along with a couple dozen others that were stolen from others. Sad end to the story is the local police didnt care less, so the tourist friend bought the kites for her and then had to pay duty to get them home for her. Maybe if he wore a tin hat it would have been easier to teleport the kites home.
Just saying...

igeighty, thats the same posting that I had originally posted for him (without the euro symbol and the umlaut) yesterday morning. BernardW replied with:

So, cookies aside, the marktplaas listing that he is providing is the same one that he says is not his.
I'm sure that there's no problem with overseas transactions 'cause I buy stuff from 'merika all the time .

Always a shame to see someone getting out of the sport, but I think I'll just sit back and watch these deals go to someone else.

igeighty - 6-7-2016 at 04:58 PM

hi hiaguy.

gotcha, i missed the translation post you did :) i only check this forum every couple of days, his post did peak my interest as finding vapors down under is like finding rocking horse poo.

i was looking for a large low wind racer.

regards.

I mistook your red-flag warning, and assumed it was the fact it had a pop-up announcing the use of cookies that caused it, not the cookies themselves. We all have our own standards for what we're willing to tolerate or deal with online or in person. I figured I'd explain why the pop-up as a developer who's done some web stuff on the side, it's something that I've had to deal with, and that the rules/law changes for are recent enough not everyone has seen those. Not providing an opt-out for cookies I find annoying, nothing else. We all are free to choose a level of risk we're comfortable with (or not).

Out of curiosity how do you login here if you keep cookies disabled in your browsers? I get email with an external client doesn't require them, but I wonder how you manage forum usage, as I can't think of a viable technical work around. There's a famous computer scientist/security researcher (I'm forgetting who atm) who is renowned using a single computer for checking his email, which he does via command line (mutt or pine). In fact there's a growing number who use mutt to avoid any security leak possible from Java/Flash/etc and to reduce it to the minimum exposure.

bigkid - 6-7-2016 at 07:26 PM

Volock, I spend over 900 bucks a year to keep my stuff safe from prying eyes, and itchy fingers, which is a small drop in the bucket to what I have spent in the past.
I had to become a hacker to find the guy that got me. With that I learned an awful lot on the dark side of the web. It's way to easy to take a Tour through your computer. Not that I would.
I don't want to hijack this post, so I will not bother you all if it's what your interested in purchasing.

BTW..

..what's the technical difference between Yakuza and Yakuza GT?
