Anyone have a star kite that could clarify the safety line setup? The flag out line on a friend's 2015 star kite seems dangerous. I tried flagging it
out and had to keep yanking on it for it to "slide" through. Then resetting it was almost impossible to get the knot between the main line and the
short safety line to feed back through the chicken loop and even harder to get it through the plastic bar stopper or into the y split stopper. It had
a prussic knot on it on top of the regular knot you use to join two looped end ropes. We tried taking out the prussic to leave a normal kite line join
and it did not help much. It would be imposible to reset this out on the water, you have to manually dress the knot and finnesse it through the holes
for it not to get xompletely stuck.

though i fly star stuff , i still have a 9m its a 2012 i think, have not used a star bar in 5 years. i use custom bars with mutliple parts from
numerous sources. the bar i have thats similiar to the 2015 has same pull thru line which worked poorly and did not even consider using it , its was
parted out some time ago. there older stuff which had chicken loop safety line combined which was farm grade but worked.
the slide thru areas can be rimmed out a fraction to allow passage but i remember the swivel thing was not so great all plastic, think they hacked
itfrom some EH stuff that was weak to being with, though great canopys, bar set up WAS basic and worked , the newer stuff never liked. some of my
kite bags are littered with star parts .
and too i rarely used the safety on them, they relaunch super easy, just keeping the loop together when it went slack in the water THAT WAS a suprise
whenpowers up and its all half #@%$#!ed.(thats on the older stuff)
if you can't open up things where it passes freely , get something else , naish universal bar is nice basic set up
