Checked for it on YouTube and Vimeo with no luck.

If you are on Facebook, it's worth a viewing....

Facebook account isn't necessary to view. It must be public? I don't have an account and it was viewable.

Cool video. Nice to see kids doing something other than Pokemon

OK, the little dude has mad skills for a little knee-high. Maybe I'll get that good someday; there's still time. :D

Very impressive.

Did you see him getting air on the land before hitting water..?

Made me reflect a bit on safety....

Allowing a(very) young child to do a particular sports has considerations. Certain sports are riskier than others...or are perceived as so.

One would think nothing about allowing a child of any age to ski downhill, for example. Not that there's no risks in it..

This sport ...? For a 7 year old...? How about a 5 year old?

Just thinking.. otherwise a cool video indeed.

This argument has been brought up on xk. It really comes down to the parents and their understanding of the conditions and risk involved. No different than parents that have their kids doing other types of extreme things that nobody seems to mind. motor sports comes to mind.

Wow. Kid is amazing. On the safety issue, it appears to me we can assume little Timmy isn't driving himself to the beach so Mom and Dad are right there each and every time, and are likely to be monitoring conditions for their precocious child pretty closely. Also, he seems very well equipped and in control at all times.

The one thing that does bother me is that this video appears to have been shot on one outing. I wonder if he is permitted to kite under less idyllic conditions or in more dangerous locations than the one depicted that don't make it to the public eye due to potential for criticism.

Personally I took the video at face value.... a very talented 7 year old showing some impressive skills with the kite and board.

Any further commentary on the safety issues involved are pretty much groundless without know more about the background of him or his family.

Yes he got some air on the land, but it also looking like he was intentionally redirecting to bring himself back to terra firma.

For all we know, ma, pa and a squadron of siblings are on the the water with a shocking degree of frequency. The local climate might also also for a longer flying season on the water.

This is probably at least partially pertinent to any discussion about youth, maturity and safety.

I found it amusing that he is doing all that on a 4m. That's the kiting equivalent of dating a girl who gets drunk on one beer. :P ;)
