Kite-Skating Equipment

Windstruck - 24-7-2016 at 07:54 AM

True to my word with my bride after my freak gasoline fight accident, I am selling my kite skating gear. All items are in great shape. I appreciate how specialized this equipment is and I know it will take a special buyer. I priced everything at roughly 50% replacement value despite all items being practically new. Kite skating is an absolute blast, but it just has to be one of those things I don't do anymore to keep the peace at home.

So here goes...:

Seba FR Pro Custom boots (EU48) with Intuition Heat Moldable Liners (new $400): $200 + shipping - NO LONGER FOR SALE

Powerslide Metropolis SUV aluminum frames with 125x25mm tires (new $300): $150 + shipping - NO LONGER FOR SALE

Nordic Scout "wheels of doom" aluminum frames with 200x50mm tires with two extra tires and tubes (new $400): $200 + shipping - SOLD

Powerslide "wheels of doom" aluminum frames with 150x30mm tires (new $250): $125+ shipping - SOLD

Rollerblade Coyote frames with 150x25mm tires (bought used): $50 + shipping - SOLD

Edit (10/5/16): boots and 3-wheels-under frames still available. Configuration as shown to the right in the bottom picture.

Please U2U me with interest. Thanks!

Could you tell us which is the coyotes?

Windstruck - 24-7-2016 at 08:56 AM

The Coyotes are the "Rollerblade" frames shown in the bottom photo on the left and in a close up a little higher up (the one with only one wheel in the photo). The Coyotes are frame and wheel only.

First, good luck with the sale, but....

Just a little Zoolander humor

I really enjoyed following your kite skating equipment exploration and progression. I hate to see you sell it but if that's what it takes to keep the wife happy, I would do it too. She is ok with buggy and snow kite I assume? With your inline skating skills, you could try regular inline skates on asphalt and nasa star 3's unhooked. As long as your not trying to haul arse I would think it would be reasonably safe. I don't really know as I only do skateboards. Your small size ns3's are perfect for asphalt.

Winner, winner, chicken dinner! I like that idea a lot. I doubt I'll be able to sell my boots so I think I'll hold onto them and my Powerslide Metropolis SUV frames. I've got my NS3s set up on Z-bridles running off of handles with a 5m lineset. I'll give them a whirl as Sean (ssayre) suggested. Thanks for the continued inspiration Sean!

Coyote's are already out the door to one lucky buyer so I edited them out of the post. Wheel's of doom frames and wheels still available. Great setups for the right buyer. I'm going to hold onto my skate boots and SUV frames and wheels to try my hand at unhooked skate kiting on pavement, following the excellent suggestion of ssayre!

Increased selection, reduced prices, and a new willingness to negotiate! Yes, I want to sell these items. Proceeds from these sales will flow in Jeff's (BigKid) pocket as he is making me one of his venerable AQR systems for my buggy. :bigok:

i'll send demoknight a text message for you. don't know if he has been on lately and he is into inline stuff

I did get ahold of a pair of Coyotes on Ebay a few months ago, but I haven't had the opportunity to kite in them yet. I have skated around and they feel pretty natural. The wheel base is actually really comparable to my speed skates on 110mm wheels, but the frame height takes some getting used to. The high cuffs of the boots help with that though. I should have strapped them on at JIBE, but I think I want a waist harness for skating instead of my Divine buggy harness.

Glad you were able to snag some Coyotes. Agreed that a sit-style buggy harness would not be ideal. I've got zero experience with a waist harness but did feel comfortable in the Ozone S-B harness. For me I was able to decently simulate snowkiting with such a harness and wheels of doom style setups more so than Coyote style setups (between two wheels versus above three wheels). Go get 'em tiger!

Prices further reduced. Practically giving this stuff away at this point.

Windstruck - 2-9-2016 at 10:43 AM

Prices reduced even further. Sales of these items are "bricks in the wall" at this point for me to demonstrate to my bride that I am shaping up and keeping to my word that I am curtailing my kiting to safer endeavors such as buggying with an AQR and snowkiting in deep soft snow. Help a brother out! I love my bride dearly and she has good points to make. I want to keep both loves in my life.

Windstruck - 5-10-2016 at 05:27 AM

Most items are now sold. Still available are the Seba boots with Metropolis SUV (3 wheel underfoot) frames as shown in the bottom picture in the original post in this thread (configuration to the right with the smaller wheels).

Windstruck - 17-1-2017 at 10:24 AM

These have festered for quite a while in my garage. In the spirit of cleaning things out I really would like to sell these custom boots and wheel & frame sets. I will certainly entertain reasonable offers. Thanks in advance.

Windstruck - 18-2-2017 at 06:10 AM

I dropped the prices of the skates and wheel/frame sets.

How about that kite spread out in the background, does it come with a bar?:P

You have a keen eye Ed, that's an early prototype NPW, bovine model. Comes with cat-gut bridling, vine lines, and femur bar. ;)

Ed Cline - 19-2-2017 at 06:15 AM

So if I split the bridles will it fly on my longhorn handles?

Windstruck - 17-6-2017 at 12:25 PM

All items sold or no longer for sale.
