NASA Star 2 quiver. SOLD

3shot - 30-7-2016 at 01:45 PM

Up for sale is my excellent condition set of Born Kite NASA Star 2s. Only selling because I'm going exclusively FB for the duration. As always, people can vouch for my gear. Mostly flown in the buggy on grassy soccer fields with a couple trips to Jekyll Island. Each kite has very low flight time. The 5.5 and 7m have maybe a dozen flights, and the 2.5 and 4m maybe half a dozen flights. Line sets are perfect as well as the chicken loop assembly. I have a complete factory short bar, and a complete modded long PL bar. Also have a stock stripped factory bar. I like the short bar for the smaller kites, and the long bar for the bigger kites, but all fly on either bar.

Included is:
2.5m and bag
4m and bag
5.5m and bag
7m and bag.
Factory short bar complete with 20m lines
Modded PL long bar complete with 20m lines
Stripped short bar
All kite literature
Large backpack that fits the whole quiver.
YOU WILL NEED A HARNESS to use as designed unless you persue Street kiting. You will have to mod the bar a little for that.

Free con USA shipping!
Priced to sell at $600.00! Mega savings for a complete quiver! The headache of VAT and international shipping have already been done! If you are looking for a new style of kiting or something a little different, these are awesome! Very well taken care of too! PayPal or money works. Have never had an issue on PKF "sending money to friends" via Paypal to avoid all the fees. If "paying for goods and services/request invoice", don't forget to add the 3% for PayPal fees. Smoking good deal for that many kites and all that equipment.

ssayre - 30-7-2016 at 02:49 PM

Fantastic set up for both "streetkite" and buggy if your inland. Great on short line as well. I use mine with 5m lines and buggy parking lots and roads with obstructions not allowing for long lines. And of course skateboard / longboard :)

And I can't stress enough how nice it would be to order from 3shot and have them in a few days versus 3-6 weeks and at virtually half price.

ssayre - 30-7-2016 at 02:50 PM

Not to mention, you never ever never never ever see nasa stars for sale. :D Hopefully someone snatches these up before I'm tempted to buy these as back ups to mine.

Edit: Steve recently sold a few but still very rare to find second hand

Gotta say (again) that the NS2s are just flat out better looking kites than the NS3s by a long shot. We evolve Jason and our quivers evolve with us.

Great kites at a great price from a great guy.

Negative steve, only some are evolving, I've acquired my lifelong quiver short one 12m p2 :P

3shot - 30-7-2016 at 03:01 PM

Yes. Great kites Steve. If money was endless.. I'd be a kite hoarder lol. I cut my teeth on FB, and have traveled all in between since then and now. Kind of full circle so to speak.

Pretty damn sure you'd be the only person in the USA with a duplicate set Sean. Yes, you need these! Lol

soliver - 30-7-2016 at 03:10 PM

I didn't evolve, I was just created fickled

Wish I could grab some of this gear, I have to say I would love to have a 2.5m Nasa Star. My "storm kite" is still an FB foil and I just don't see myself flying it in the conditions that suit it... but I can't bring myself to get rid of it... Wouldn't mind a spare Bar and line set either. But alas, there are no funds. Frankly I am more likely to want another Peak (P2 12m like Sean :D)

This is a great load of gear gang, especially coming from Jason and with the awesome carry-all

riffclown - 30-7-2016 at 03:11 PM

I recognize the Wright Memorial in a few of those pics and my 8M toxic on the ground in one so I remember that day indeed..
FWIW, I can absolutely vouch for 3shot's stated gear conditions.. I'd rather buy from him used than most places new. His kite OCD is vastly to your benefit. If better than new is possible, then 3shot fits that bill.

3shot - 30-7-2016 at 03:15 PM

Yes riff. Wright memorial in North Carolina. Your 8m Toxic too.
Thanks for the kind words fellas!

Ok, so I'm intrigued and possibly interested. Explain to me what I can do with this that I can't do with my Peak. I'm always looking for additional ways to fly. Can I buggy and board in even lower winds then the Peak? I don't really know of too many parking lots that don't have light posts, so I'm not sure I could add a long board to the mix. Also, why would I want to use a bar over the handles?

ssayre - 30-7-2016 at 05:54 PM

what can you do with them that the peak doesn't do? Well I like leaving my peak set up on long lines even though it will fly well on short lines. I have my nasa stars set up for short line and use in parking lots. You will not gain any low end when compared to your 9m peak. Light poles are absolutely not a problem. They are actually welcomed and fun. with 5m lines on the nasa stars your can easily steer over or around the light poles.

You can longboard and buggy with them on grass on long lines easily and the small ones would be a welcome addition to your quiver for our winds.

Excellent buggy engines! John Holgate has about the best answers in video form with the buggy on his YouTube channel. All kites that provide traction move you from point A to B. I also had a 6m Peak jadog. I can't say one is better than the other. Just another variation of traction if you will, and something different to look at other than a typical wing. Yes the NASAs can be flown on handles. You will lose the ability to depower the kite when not using a bar. It would basically be a standard NPW at that point. You would need to separate the kite's bridles and add a Z bridle for (IMHO) effective handle flying. Ssayre has the NASA 2s and the 9m Peak 1. He is the king of long board Nasa flying with 5m lines and plenty of light poles lol. He may chime in on his thoughts of the compared wind ranges. He also has several parking lot long board videos.
The 2.5 can move you well into the low to mid 20s wind range. That's about as far as I would push it. I've had good traction with the 7m in 7-10 mph wind. That's me with my buggy in clean air with hard pack sand. Janky wind, vehicle, and turf will vary. Just do a little youtubing and see if the NASA Stars are something that would suit your likes. You would need to rework the bars a little to setup for short line long board flying. Very easy. They are currently set up for the buggy. You dont need all the depower apparatus for short line bar flying. The good thing here is you could dedicate the short bar for parking lot long boarding, and keep the longer bar for the buggy. The longer bar will make the smaller kites twice as zippy though. Me personally though, ID leave these two bars as is, and mock up the stripped bar just for street kite. Add two leaders and two power lines and hit the pavement. I'm sure I got a spare 20m line laying around I could donate so you could make the 5m lines.

Edit.. I guess we were typing at the same time Ssayre lol.

Don't forget how single skins do in rain/ wet / dunking...

When winds are too good to let rain stop you.

jadog - 31-7-2016 at 06:11 PM

I think I need to watch some videos...

I've always found the expression "You know you want some chicken" to work wonders on this site. Just sayin....

Bump for the approaching fall winds

ssayre - 26-8-2016 at 04:59 AM

Great deal folks. Probably the most versatile wings you can own. They handle inland wind and you can harness to them much more safely than most other kites. The extra control gear is a big bonus as well. New people looking to start or experienced riders looking to streetkite, this is it.

3shot - 26-8-2016 at 06:57 AM

What's even better than the already great deal? Another $50.00 off. That's right. The great deal at $650.00 just became an excellent deal at $600.00
Lowest I can go.

3shot - 13-9-2016 at 04:53 PM

Willing to trade for a 4m, and 5m Cross Kites Sonic in same condition.

Suds after thuds - 14-9-2016 at 06:05 AM

"Fickled" would mean something very different here:alien:
I wonder if they would be re-taxed being sent back to Germany.
Intriguing deal... If only I hadn't forgot that the highway is not the autobahn

3shot - 4-10-2016 at 05:10 PM

Bump..
