Shot-Car track Update

coreykite - 5-3-2007 at 01:07 PM

Howdy Racers,

The weekend saw the completion of the track building process.
Pavers and stripers will finish up this week.

Saturday evening saw some preliminary runs that proved out the course.
It also allowed Dave Ruster and I to pre-run a number of the shot-cars in our respective garages.

We used an 18" elevation for the starting line on the 8' track.
That works out to something like a 15%-16% slope.
Plenty fast.

Dave has a '57 Chevy that looks like it'll be tough to beat.
My Hummer H2 and the custom Woodie made it a race, but Dave won the 2 out-of 3 format we were using.

An interesting side-story is our discovery that half-shots are sufficient for racing.
We figured out that one should use the least-fuel-per-run needed to complete the course.
The added fuel of full-shots won't impact the race - The fuel load is consumed at the start.
The added fuel of a full-shot DOES impact the driver.

Particulary in a Best-Of-Three format.

Oh It's Going To Be FUN!!!

Naturally the rules(which are all written down, but no where to be found)state:

and i quote: 'all fuel spills are considered wasteful and shall therefore count against one in tie breaking situations.'

It's the race judges final decision however.

Hey Baby,

We're pros.

Only amateurs spill.

Every drop of racing fuel made it down the respective gullet.

We're figuring on starting the event around 7:30 pm.
Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday nights.

Gives a chance for some dinner before reconvening in the tent.
We have power, lights, music, heaters, chairs and tables.
Bring with you all you need.

We'll have a "quiet corner" for non-racers and non-race spectators.
It'll probably be empty.

Hey Baby... Come onna MY house.

From your perspective, what would you suppose they are?
Get creative here...

Our Wicked Fast Track is ready.

Dave and I have invested countless hours (almost 1/2) in creating the finest, fastest shot-car track ever.

Like Daytona, this track is classified a super-speedway.
Total racing distance of 8'.

Dave and I have been conducting tests on the new track.
Running all our cars, determining which ones we'll race...
And which ones we'll rent out.

It's been a grueling endeavor, but we rose to the challenge and are already more than half-way through a Big Bottle of Bushmills with still more testing to be done before the Big Show.

I want all potential competitors to know that we have, through dint of our own perserverance, gone above and beyond in our quest to provide all of you this world-class racing venue.

We're welcome.
