Any one familiar with lake Meredith national rec area

Will be on the lake tomorrow. Any body know any good beaches???:P. Or any Amarillo Kiters ??

Anthony, which state are you referring to? There is a lake Meredith in Colorado. Proletariat and I checked it out once. Its a nice lake, but there are limited launch areas. Basically there is only one public access point on the North end of the lake, so you would have to launch and land off the road where other vehicles are also parking. You would want to make sure the winds are coming from the south, otherwise if you get blown to the other side of the lake you are in for a very long walk. Its a big lake.

Talking to the locals there, they said the lake has been getting really busy in the last couple of years, so the launch area may be filled with cars. If I had a boat, I would feel more comfortable kiting that spot. The winds ended up being really light the day we went down and we ended up not kiting. It could definately work, it would just take the right conditions, and I would be really apprehensive about anything that might get me blown to the south side of the lake.

Hey Nate just saw this. Lake Meredith Nat rec area is outside to the northwest of Amarillo Texas. Large body of water deep canyon and FREE everything total nice.
