Square meter size of Uniq Play kite

NPWflyer - 1-10-2016 at 07:33 PM

Does anyone happen to know the size in square meters of the smallest Uniq Play kites (dual line no bar single skin kite) by Peter Lynn?

They only list wingspan online. You might want to u2u or email Marijn.

Thanks, I sent a U2U.

1.0 and 1.5 are all ive seen in the dual line. Quad line goes up to 4.0 i think it was.

yeah I'm looking for the square area size of the 1.0m then.

Why don't you simply measure it ?. You'll get a more accurate figure than a nominal size indicates. It is particularly easy with Nasas because of straight edges. BTW I measured my Nasa Stars some time ago. They all are considerably smaller than the nominal size.

I measured my 5.5 as well, and came up with something a little less than 5. There is some shrinkage when sewing but its only 1-2%.

"There is some shrinkage when sewing but its only 1-2%."

Are you sure it wasn't cold when you measured?

I would measure it if I owned one. I want one but I want to know the sizes to get a idea about the pull they generate before I buy one. I love that episode of Seinfeld LOL

Can't speak for the Uniq Play, but the Uniq Quad had comparatively larger pull in the meat of the wind window (directly downwind) than a FB PL Hornet of comparable size. However, compared to the Hornet it did not have nearly as large of wind window nor was its build up of power as smooth. Sort of a punch in the middle with a quick trail off. For single skin simple flying I prefer the NASA Stars.

U2U sent.

The Play 1.0 is ridiculously tiny, measures around 0.4 square meters...
A little angry bee in proper winds.

And yeah, the single skins have a smaller wind window than their 'normal' counterparts.
