lp000028 - 27-10-2016 at 12:21 PM

even though Jeff is new to the sport :P He is awesome to work with. Buy with confidence.

soliver - 27-10-2016 at 01:54 PM

Jeff is a great guy... I can vouch for him 100% ... I've bought plenty from him, and it's always been super smooth. He even replaced an item that got lost in the mail for me free of charge. Super stand up guy... (even though he's from out west)

cheezycheese - 27-10-2016 at 02:52 PM

Momma always said never trust a man without an upper lip, buy Jeff is okay.

thanks for nothing, every one of you were dead wrong about jeffrey he is a straight up scammer. amazing how he does not want to sell the kite now. after his failed scam fell thru. what a loser .

lp000028 - 30-10-2016 at 01:41 AM

Let me tell you what really happened I was going to purchase the kite synergy 24 m he wanted a payment gifted through PayPal which is not covered by any protection I told him there was no way I was going to do that send a regular PayPal invoice it has protection. Then he contacted me Saturday and sent Money request through PayPal which is not covered by any payment protection . he excuses was he did not want to pay any paypal fees. I gave him an extra 50 bucks on top of what he asked for to cover any fees through PayPal.

rtz - 30-10-2016 at 04:31 AM

Jeff is well known and we have all purchased from him. He's not some anonymous stranger no one knows. Ask the locals he kites with. it's not like he's new to kiting.

Dude - lighten up on that trigger finger.

You never get but one chance to make a first impression, and boy, you've made a doozey. Before you go spouting off about what a scammer somebody is you might want to take note of a couple of things. First, Jeff (BigKid) joined the forum in 2009 and has to date 3854 posts. You? Joined last week and have mounted a whooping seven posts. Second, pinned to the top of the For Sale section of PKF is a Good Trader List. I didn't bother to count, but Jeff is mentioned SUPER POSITIVELY only about 50-100 times in there. Third, Jeff and every other person I've ever bought and sold with here on PKF uses PayPal in exactly this fashion. Why? Because we get to know each other, do our due diligence on the Good Trader thread and then save some money trading with people we trust. I've done dozens of transactions on PKF in this fashion with a lot of people and got burned ZERO times. Not saying there won't be a first time, but I for one bet it won't happen. Yes, I'm sure there are some "horror stories" out there (oh my!) but I bet they are super rare.

Finally, a word about Jeff. I'm not going to go and say he's the best or most trustworthy guy on the forum because that just doesn't do justice to the legions of stand up men and women who frequent this site. We are a tribe of sorts. When somebody gets hurt doing what we love the outpouring of support is incredible. People really care. Jeff, Spencer (soliver) and I can all attest to that, and there are many more. I have personally dealt with Jeff with a transaction, buying one of his AQR systems to make my buggy riding safer. Not only did Jeff sell me a great item that he had hand crafted, but he emailed me, texted me, and called me all through the transaction and afterwards to absolutely ensure that I fully understood his product and that I was completely pleased with his work.

It is just a JOKE to call Jeff a scammer. His reputation here is about as solid as it gets.

TEDWESLEY - 30-10-2016 at 06:55 AM

I stand with the other members here. Be very careful slinging the scammer hammer when you have not been scammed. The seller in these deals is the person who decides if they want to trust you. There may have been many reasons not to sell that kite to you. That is a very large and potentially dangerous kite and you seem inexperienced. Jeff may have been doing you a favor

abkayak - 30-10-2016 at 07:21 AM

I won't bring up how he has sent me stuff w/out payment...and waited for a mailed check
I won't mention how I have seen him give valuable items away free of charge, or loaned stuff out on the honor system...the guy has been an ambassador of the damn sport

You got this one wrong...and we will all also tell you their pbly is no 2nd chances w/ him
He is definately the type to hold a grudge forever

lp000028 - 30-10-2016 at 07:49 AM

the conclusion even if jeffery ripped somebody off we would still stand by him . unbelievable

How exactly has Jeff " ripped you off " or scammed you " ?

He was selling an item peer to peer. As the seller HE has the right to dictate the terms and conditions.

Jeff is a strong personality and I suspect YOUR attitude did not sit well with Him. I know I would think twice about selling a big beast like that to somebody who comes in with attitude. That kite has no place in the hands of somebody who acts entitled and is a complete unknown in the kite community.

Jeff never " ripped you off ". You pissssst him off!
Jeff didn't "scam" you. He chose not to put a dangerous kite in your hands.

I am left wondering WHY you want a Monster sized arc like that in the 1st place? I suspect Jeff was doing you a favour by keeping it out of your hands. What did you tell him you have for pilot experience?

Jeff is a respected member with a long history of NOT ripping people off. Actually being too generous for his own good at times. If any member on this site TRULY ripped somebody off we would be on top of him like a Big Brother! ( Ripsession ;))

lp000028 - 30-10-2016 at 10:47 AM

blade runner said (If any member on this site TRULY ripped somebody off we would be on top of him like a Big Brother) explain what you would do about it exactly .

bobalooie57 - 30-10-2016 at 11:47 AM

Wow. I remember when I sold my 4M & 8M Access as a pair. The guy was posting for the first time, and I was worried about his experience level. After talking with him, I felt comfortable that he had the necessary experience, so I sold them to him. He gifted me the $ thru PayPal, and I shipped them right out. He was a little put out by my hesitancy, but was comfortable when he realized I was thinking about his safety.

ssayre - 30-10-2016 at 12:22 PM

I must be confused. Did you pay for an item that you did not receive or are you just being a d!ck for the fun of it. I don't see where any scam has occurred.

lp000028 - 30-10-2016 at 12:52 PM

no ssayre your just slow

ssayre - 30-10-2016 at 01:23 PM

I'm glad you convinced yourself this was a scam. All it did was cost you a kite. The rest of us don't care. We have had first hand experience and most of us have traded with each other for years. So we know. That's why you asked us in the first place. If you don't trust us, then move on to eBay or another forum.

blade runner i asked you question, i guess you you can't answer it.

Ken, leave the child be. If he can't behave then he's going to need to wait in the car. :saint:

Poor Troll.

He won't ever answer my question. He can't since he never was scammed or ripped off.

If HE wasn't so SLOW he would see I answered his question in brackets in the original post. ( Ripsession )

Kcleelaws - 31-10-2016 at 04:16 PM

I've got the impression Jeff is s good guy. Now this thread cemented it. I'm new here and he is the first one to respond to any questions I ask here. He has invited me to call him up to set up an outing, I was hesitant at first because I don't know him and I'm a total newbie with 5 months experience just flying a power kite. I'm going to set up an outing with him as soon as my kite gets repaired. Even though I'm just starting to ride my ATB with the kite, and I doubt I'll be keeping up well, it'll be great to head out with someone with real experience. All the support Jeff got here makes me kick myself for not getting together with him sooner.

abkayak - 31-10-2016 at 05:00 PM

Congrats! you sir have figured it out...you will be rewarded w/ an accelerated learning curve amongst other kitely rewards
I hope your a sir...I assumed

hiaguy - 31-10-2016 at 05:47 PM

abkayak / PC

But, seriously, say "hi" to Jeff for me (and ask him how many days to WBB) :wee:

riffclown - 31-10-2016 at 05:57 PM

@lp00028 the last time someone came here and started trashing a trusted forum member, it didn't end well. Dig down in the forums a little bit and you'll see just how off base you were with the accusations. Take the time to read past the first few pages. Look up his posts and his sales reputation among the forums. You'll notice that most who responded here have 100's of posts, many 1000+. We've been around awhile. Trust is earned and Jeff has earned the trust of his fellow riders, his fellow forum members and EVERYONE he's done business with to my knowledge. He's earned mine and I've never personally bought from or sold to him.. BUT I would do so without hesitation. You see, even though I've never met him personally, I do know his friends and people he rides with. They trust him and I TRUST them. We are a trusting group among ourselves and we usually trust newcomers pretty openly. I've sent kites to total stranger on the promise of payment and others have done the same for me. Never had an issue here. We don't really know what went down behind the scenes and at this point most of us don't care beyond a curiosity. But you should know you could have trusted big kid. Don't know what was said but it seems he decided not to trust you for some reason. Too late now. I'm sure that bridge is burned.

We are a fairly tight knit group and we love this sport. The reputation of our sport and our family is very important to us as a whole and Jeff is Family! We'd forsake a sale at any price to keep the sport safe and keep the accident videos from hurting the sport in general. BigKid is trusted greatly in this sport and many buggiers actually put their lives in his hands when they buggy. His AQR is a lifesaver, literally.. I don't personally own one because I don't strap in BUT if I decide to, you can bet it will be with his hardware guarding against disaster. He's single handedly made kite buggying safer.

The fact that he hasn't responded to your accusations when others have should tell you something.. It tells me a lot..
